Like SpankysLadder said, I grew very tired of the regional treatment over several years. Frontier, while far from perfect offered a chance to get out of that rat race and potentially settle down for the long haul.
Like others, including myself, have stated, our overall compensation package lags behind other Airbus operators in just about every section. That isn't news to anyone on the seniority list here but anyone with some foresight knows it will improve. Only you can tell if you can make this place work or not. We have a great pilot group, the flying is, for the most part, easy and there is a lot of potential here. Ignore the trolls. If you decide to pull the trigger just be ready to stand with us while we go through the bargaining process. There are a few of us here that will try and give you no b.s. answers to your questions, so fire away.

Me.
The people are great I will agree. But, there comes a point where lack of compensation in spite of record profits becomes lack of respect. I didn't come to F9 for the money but I'm also not masochistic. I knew what the pay scale was when I accepted but this industry is a giant game of leap frog. Sooner or later, it will be our turn or drastic measures (like a strike) will occur.
If that's what it takes, then I am more than willing and ready. I think most other pilots here, as nice as they are described above, are as well.
I will tell you that the culture of the people whom you would work with as a pilot is friendly. The culture of the company is that ALL of its employees are resources and cost them money - anything they can do to cut costs is completely acceptable to them.
Keep that in mind when deciding . . .
BL - if you're looking to get paid out of this, I'd stay wherever I was (if fairly senior) and wait for a legacy. If you're not into being on reserve for years, kinda like the company of others and can strike up a conversation about something other than the contract or management and can afford to wait a year or 3 to get paid better, then consider it.

I have to agree. I don't understand why the we have great people line keeps getting repeated. My aviation career hasn't been long, but at the four companies I've worked for 90% of my co-workers were awesome and 10% you tried to stay away from. Frontier is no different.

If your embarrassed to work here, I hope your trolling. No one is twisting your arm to be here. Walmart is hiring. I was just simply saying I enjoy the people. We all know what needs worked on, how many times are we gonna kick that can around?

I love it when I read this.
I would guess that probably 99.943272% of all pilots currently at a regional, ULCC or legacy could all quit their jobs and get hired by Wal Mart if they tried hard enough.
Obviously, it's not about some other job or industry that we could all work for, it's about doing what we enjoy doing while being compensated fairly...
Frontier pilots took a hit to their pay when the economy was bad and the airline was struggling. That's not the case anymore. RECORD profits are the story now. Is it really that far-fetched to understand how people here, who have been here for many years now, are embarrased at how they're being treated pay wise?

That's embarrasing. Both for me who is living through it daily AND for the company that continues to find new ways to insult me at the negotiating table. They don't care, because of course, they are making millions. But I do.
If you don't, cool. That's your opinion and I'll never criticize someone else who thinks differently. But, at the same time, I'm embarrased for you. To me, if you don't feel the slightest bit used then I don't really know what to say.
Again, I CHOSE to be here. I'm not whining. At the same time, I don't go around screaming to everyone I know that I work at Frontier...
That's just my $0.02.

What is the training at Frontier like? AQP? Reading the spirit thread, it sounds like their training is the absolute minimum and It's cheaper to hand out pink slips than give extra training, is Frontier similar?

Not saying it's easy, just that it's set up for you to be successful.
