Long-time lurker here, finally decided to make an account. Former 121 pilot, caught a furlough in 2008 and have been working in another industry since then. Looking at getting my CFI ticket and instructing to get to ATP mins and go back to an airline role.

Hello everyone,
I am a seasoned aviation professional looking for an aircraft pilot position where I can pursue a flying career and also contribute my extensive aviation background. I earned my Commercial Pilot rating with INST to compliment my Professional Aeronautics degree. I’m also an Air Force veteran with over 20 years of aircraft maintenance experience and hold an A&P and Inspection Authorization certificate. Not looking to go to the airlines. I have 350 (ASEL)hours.Looking for anything in the Tampa Bay Fl regional to build hours, fly right seat, hopefully get something part 91, charter, etc
Thanks for any help you can provide.

Default Hello from San Antonio area

Hey everyone!

New to the forum, currently 302hrs and climbing, waiting on Commercial ASEL checkride. Private with instrument rating, and would love to get up and fly with some locals. Currently enrolled in a CFI/CFII course for November and will be instructing after that until I can land a part 135/91 gig or make it to the regional mins. Nice to meet you all!

Earned my private SEL in '92 wit about 100hrs total but took a 25 year unintentional break...pursued another career and family. Took on a new position with a justified flying mission so I got current last year (oh yes...lots of new avionics goodies out there now!), got my instrument rating in June '19, and have just under 300 hours. Picked up my personal flying machine - a Mooney M20F. Now I dream of maybe taking advantage of the pilot shortage if I can get my commercial instrument/ME and get a freight or commuter position over the next few years. I'll have a few years of age left by then. Still a dream but a dream is the start of a reality!

Default Old Dude

I have 1700TT in puddle-jumpers, time I accumulated several decades ago as a CFII-MEI. I dreamed of becoming an airline pilot, but was too old, given the flood of military pilots returning and getting a lot of the cherished positions--I'm happy they had something to "come home" to--they deserved it.

My thing now is to learn what I can in order to continue writing a trilogy about a young guy who desires to get into the left seat of an airliner. I'm now working on the second book in the series and looking for info about getting on with a regional in order to build the experience/hours needed for major airline jobs. The story is cast in 2010--2011.

I'm curious about your comment "Took on a new position with a justified flying mission"--Many years ago I applied with MAF, is that the sort of mission you're talking about?

I started commuting about 300 miles to a clinic/hospital as an ob/gyn. I'm there usually 3 days per week and then return home. I end up driving a fair amount though because I don't have TKS or boots.
