It seems like this forum forgot about Compass. Upgrades slowed down last year when Delta took back the 6 170s and management froze hiring. That's why they show a 2 year upgrade. Now they can't hire enough FOs to keep up with attrition. Hiring is so desperate that the interview is a short HR portion to make sure you have a pulse. Soon it could be like 2015 all over again when they were hiring CAs off the street. Plus the last new hire award was spread pretty evenly in all three bases. You could hold SEA right out of the gate, or in very short order. They also fly long legs and have a 4 hour min day.

I like QX, but if you think OO is the only other west coast option you're wrong. In fact OO is only a west coast option if you're very senior.

AND can fog a mirror. That they still insist upon. A chilled one at least.

Forgot to add that, but yes, pretty much. They shrunk it to a two person panel HR portion. Basically 15 minutes to make sure you're sane followed by a drug test. Don't worry though. I'm sure they'll supply you with clean urine too.

It has certainly been quite a turn around since last summer.

'Fleet Optimization Plan Update:

As of April 2018:

We will receive an additional 3 E 175 delivers in 2018. We were scheduled to receive 13 E's and we will now receive 16 E's in 2018. However, there is still no projected fleet growth as Q's will be retired in concert with E 175 deliverers. As soon as network planning has visibility for the fall we will be informed and will know where the additional E 175's will be placed to take over Q flying.

Our fleet plan remains at 60 total aircraft."

Welp

...and only 4 more in 2019, making the E175 count 30. That will mean that we'll be half E175 and half Q400 by the end of 2019. I like that they are going to pick up a few extra E175s, but if they ditch the Q400s, all that means is that the E175s will be flying the short routes where the Q400s are so efficient. This should be interesting.

By my math, that means we’re parking 19 Q’s this year. Anybody know how many Q’s are based in MFR/GEG/BOI? This reeks of reduction to two crew bases.

I believe BOI has 4-5 RON aircraft, MFR has two (but one isn't technically a RON, since it's there a few minutes short of five hours), but I don't know about GEG.

If you assume 25-30 Q's stay in the fleet, that's probably enough airplanes to justify keeping the current bases open (especially if they just replace Q's with 175's in SEA and PDX), but that's ultimately up to the "geniuses" that AAG puts in charge here.
