Had I stayed at my regional, I'd be on year 5 capt pay making less than I do here as a 2nd year FO. My QOL wouldn't be anywhere near what I have now either, and I may never get a call from the big 3. This job is ridiculously easy and you can work as much or as little as you want.

I also love when people say that guys should go to DL/UA/AA/FDX and we're dumb if we come here, as if we have a choice. My apps have been in for the big 3 for many years and the phone is still silent. If they call me, I'll be in the first class they offer me, but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy working here, and I can make a seriously good living here. It's fine to complain but some people just way over do it. I'm never one for saying "If you don't like it, leave", because I think it's important to make our workplace as great as possible for us, but for some guys who do nothing but ***** and claim they 'miss their regionals', then maybe you really should just leave and go find happiness somewhere else.
Good Lord why would you be in the first class offered to you by DL/UA/AA/FDX?!?

Didn't you hear, we are right up there with the best of them according to Cool!

Blue can I ask you a question? What is it you are trying to do here? The threads are freaking crystal clear about JetBlue. We are not in a labor dispute which is what you used before to point out all of the negatives. But here we still are. It’s like GOD gave you a holy order to present the negatives of JetBlue to the masses. THEY KNOW.

Gosh you and I agree on a ton about this place but even a wiff of a positive post or a counter to your thinking and you are suiting up like Joan of Arc to fight the information battle and save the desperate souls from coming here.

Now I know how you will spin this, we are just attacking you. When something negative comes true maybe we defer planes you will start a new post and say see see I told you. And we are just trying to squash your opinions and make JetBlue look good.

I think many people on here agree with you but respectfully you have a mild obsession with wanting people to march lock step with you. That’s the part I don’t understand. It’s an airline some good some bad. One day in the far future when the retirements stop at the big 3 and start here the bottom guy at a 15000 number list might bail to come here as we start our retirements.
And so the cycle goes.

I will indeed start a new thread, or just quote Cool telling me I was wrong about it, because, well, I hate being told I'm wrong...

Only if you consider frontier, spirit, and allegiant our peers. Historically it was DAL, UAL, AA, and SWA. What brought in ALPA (among other things) was the company bringing the ULCCs into our compensation per set.

Do you compare us to them? I guess the company won that battle. Along with the rest of them.

Save your breath. Management doesn't even need to bring our expectations down because we have our own pilots willingly and gleefully doing it for them.

POG correct me if I am wrong. You went to JB when the pay was way below industry average? That means you were willing to be paid below market (or you and others dictated that market) Had you held out the market would have dictated that pay would have to be better in order to hire pilots. I am just trying to understand.

Agreed ALPA helped and did correct that market (for you) via our new CBA that you adamantly are against.

I am not trying to be a jerk? Please correct me if I am wrong?

As the A220’s start coming on line next year and some 190’s start disappearing, does it stand to reason that upgrade times may start to creep upwards? How are current trends?

I’d say that’s a fair assumption. As 220s come on property and 190s disappear the upgrade times will slightly increase. They are currently pretty damn junior on the 190 because many don’t want to upgrade on a disappearing fleet (albeit several years until we see significant 190s go away). There will also be a training bubble where we will likely see even more junior 190 CAs while we have 3 fleets simultaneously.

This is assuming that we get rid of all 60 E190’s. I’ve heard rumors of keeping the 190’s Jetblue owns.(they own half I believe?)

Even if they kept 30, I’d still expect upgrade to tick upward if they were doing a one for one replacement until then. Once the final fleet plan was in place I could see it dropping quite low again. But for someone hired in 2019, seem like six plus years.
