You might as well save your breath. You're absolutely correct, but for so long they have trained their eyes to only see the pay rates for 3 companies.

Look, there is a ton of room for improvement. I wish the executive team communicated more (about real stuff, not "brand messaging"). I wish we were more focused on running a quality operation, and less focused on curtailing costs, mostly because a quality operation would actually save money. But, it's a good job that is well paid. The crazy negativity is just dumb.

Didn't you hear, we are right up there with the best of them according to Cool!
But we’re the very bottom according to you right. Worst of the worst.

Not growing... differing aircraft. Are we furloughing yet? I mean are we even still stagnant?

Jesus cry me a river.

We need more vacations....
health care sucks
Oh and we’re sicknenly understaffed...

I’ll be in the corner wearing a hat and asking for wind checks if anyone needs me.

Nope, not worst of the worst. Half-step above ULCC trash.

I don't care what normal people. I am a pilot, not a janitor. I compare myself to the people in my peer group.

Not picking on you CCH but the furlough moment always cracks me up. Jetblue has never staffed properly so how could they furlough. I remember this topic being discussed with Barger/Neeleman in 04-05 prior to the down turn and V-day massacre of '07.

And that lack of perspective limits your ability to be happy. There is a lot of research out there about happiness, and keeping perspective is one of the critical components of a happy life. (Your neighbor just got a Tesla. You can either focus on that and let it drag you down, or you can focus on the fact that you live in a really big house in a nice neighborhood as well, for instance.)

That's not to say that we shouldn't strive to improve, so don't go there. We should improve our contract with each negotiation cycle. But it really is important to take a step back every so often and look around and realize how fortunate we are. You're a major airline pilot, earning more than 98% to 99% more than anyone else on the planet. And other people who do make that much work FAR more, and work hard to get there.

You know what, we are not Delta, and you know what else, we are never going to be. Ever. The next negotiation cycle they will get something that we don't get, and if you continue to derive your happiness based upon what others have, you won't ever be happy here. And frankly, you won't be happy there either. You'd be a BlueDriver over there too, because there is always something wrong with any company.
