Strategic thought much?

Maybe so. By then it will be either proven to work, or not. If it works, the good on the company for finding a competitive way to guarantee a supply of pilots instead of being at a competitive disadvantage and hurting our ability to remain in business.

This place pays my paycheck. If they find a way to ensure a supply of pilots during a shortage, good! This is a sign of proactive management, as opposed to being reactive. That's a good thing guys. It means we might get to retire from this place. I sure don't want to start over.

Sooooooooo, when will JB return to ATL???? I would think JB has pax who want to travel to ATL. I know a few JB pilots who live down that way too and commute up to BOS and JFK.

Thats going to be your argument? That this is because of a looming pilot shortage? You know how you never have a shortage of applications at your airline. A competitive compensation package and a strong contract. Plain and simple. Any shortage will stop at the regional level before it ever effects JetBlue.

Trust me I want the same as you do, to retire as a Jetblue pilot. I love my job and I don't have any applications out to the legacies. That's why I hate to see this waste.

Maybe... Maybe not. I'd rather prepare for one (that all the stats point to) than to be caught unprepared in 5 years. Try to not buy in to the rhetoric from ALPA so much, and instead look at the stats. There are going to be far more pilots required worldwide than are being trained currently.

ALPA rhetoric? Well that's an eye opening statement. Are you now a part of Jetblue management? I'm serious when I ask that question. Fine either way I'd just like to know who I'm arguing with.

I'm an ALPA member and supporter. I just disagree on this one. I think that National is wrong about the pilot supply issue. And I think the "rhetoric" surrounding that issue is going to hurt our industry. Like Chris, I'm not a blind follower of anyone. And I don't have to agree with ALPA on every single issue that National takes a stance on.

Bull. You don't just say 'ALPA Rhetoric" for one disagreement. Rhetoric is plural. Next you'll be saying, "But guys, if we strike I'll lose my job." Either get on this train or shut up and get out of the way. You are the the type of pilot jetblue hired to divide the group. The pilot shortage was created by greedy managements and this won't solve a thing. Better pay, better work rules, better medical, better retirememt....see where I'm going with this? While you soak up mediocrity the rest of us that actually voted in ALPA want more. You reek of a triple no voter.

Agree.

He hasn't been here long enough to vote no three times. But we went round the merry go round when he was a newb here about how we didn't need a union...
