Personal opinion is its insane we have pilots being a salmon upstream while passengers are exiting. Not only do I feel it's chaotic as people don't know what to do as you're running at them to get to the next row, I also feel it slows the whole process. I've also had a few people over the years I've been here ask why I'm picking up trash.

Culture - I get it, help out, absolutely. I always ask the FAs if they want anything and I always buy betwee legs. As for trash, shouldn't be mine or their responsibility.

Rant over
Why cause you fly airplanes for a living? This mentality is disheartening. Have you done anything in your life other than "flying big metal in the sky"? Why are you above this?

The f1 is not supposed to leave the front during deplaning. Many will if one of us stands up to say goodbye. I've now made it part of the CAs preflight briefing, I'll tell the f1 I'm happy to help after people are off, don't swim upstream. I don't understand why this is such a big thing that we have to talk about all the time. Kinda like pilots complaining the f1 didn't get them water and a trash bag, it's not their job to do that. They ask in order to help out after their duties are done. Simple.

Would a Delta pilot do it? That's the benchmark. No I'm not kidding.

It's not that your above anything... ITs Because it's not your JOB!

and the MEC has asked multiple times not to do it.

Pilots don't clean planes.

I love the 'I'm above everybody else' pilot mentality some people have. If you have the time, pax are off, why not give a hand to fellow coworkers? I won't swim upstream, neglect my job, or not run up to get a good cup of coffee, but if I'm just standing around while everyone else is busting their butts to turn the plane? Sure I'll give a hand. It's just called being a decent person and doing the next right thing.

Did you clean the planes at your previous airline? Why did you start now at JB? Think about it.

Because it's not our job! They didn't ask me to clean airplanes during the interview. It wasn't in any of the indoc modules.

Bottom line is it's not even the FAs "job" but somehow it morphed into being that way under the guise of teamwork. AKA cheap won't hire cleaners to go through the plane.

They have cleaners in the hubs. But for some reason they don't cross belts or clean the seat backs. Not sure why.
