I'd take it a bit further and say a 76 seat E175 that is the exact same as that 100 seat jet, except a bit shorter, that has a range greater than 2,000 nm, isn't really a regional jet either. What region do they fly in when they go from IAH to Canada, the west coast, the northeast, etc.? I think the regionals should be called contract airlines (kind of like they previously changed from commuters to regionals, I think it should morph one more time), because they aren't really regional anymore. And I agree the airplanes should be called small narrow bodies as you said. But I digress.

I haven't heard of anyone. I know someone with an interview coming up, but that was from the previous window. This is my fifth time applying....slowly coming to the realization that they just might not like me.

Except you're going to get apples to apples comparison pay since the EMB-190 is actually out there.....
I'm not trying to negotiate against ourselves, and I hope everyone gets a huge raise.....I'd just expect that the lion share of any pay increase will go to the Bus.....

Check Delta's 717 to Md88 differential, or UAs LNB/SNB for a direct comparison. I'm on the bus and will not support a CBA that relegates our 190 drivers to a secondary status. The jet flies higher, farther, and faster than a 717 and is NOT an RJ just because Embraer built it.

You're wrong. The 190 pays 90 percent of the applicable bus rate because it's our small narrowbody vs medium narrowbody. That scale was set back when our rates for the Bus were merely bad, and the 190 was utterly atrocious.

Not saying it's an RJ....just saying our 190 is right at the highest pay in the industry for its class while our Bus pay is at the bottom compared with its class (see the latest comparison our NC just sent out in an email).
The bottom line is, to tie the 190 to the Bus--especially at 90%, is ridiculous.
100 seats vs 162, or up to 200 with the 321 isn't even close.
It's nothing personal against the 190 or the guys who fly it......it's basic economics and math.
Feel free to make it emotional for you though, as you've obviously done based on your post..

Is the 717 in the same class as the 190?
I say why not go for even higher pay and keep it at a 10% difference. We could really be industry leading.

The 190 guys fly an average of 4 legs with 100 pax each vs the bus guys flying 162-200 pax for an average of 1-2 legs. At least twice the take offs and landings with the same number of total pax for the day, or potentially more, on the 190. I've never heard a good reason why pay scales don't reflect that. Just out of curiosity, what would be the downside at JetBlue of having only one pay scale for all aircraft?
As far as 1 payscale...other than UPS (which flies boxes, not people), who else does that?
