So much a has changed in the past 2 months and will continue to change over the next few months. Please tell me our Union is evaluating and evolving with the situation. This AIP is looking more and more like a pile horse sh!t. Just the mere fact that we’re going ahead with this thing as it was written 2 months ago is alarming to me. Consider me seriously concerned at this point. This scope language better be short term and very tight.

There are around 250 in the pool. They are being kept up to date by PR. The plan is to keep everybody in the pool still. Plenty of those that are in the pool are Blue Darts and would make getting rid of the pool very difficult which is another good thing for those in the pool. Also the first Gateway Select Pilots are in the "batters box" and ready to take their swing in the big leagues. They will probably be sprinkled in the classes. We could take a couple of big classes and start the interview process simultaneously if and when we start hiring.

I agree completely on not wanting to give up Scope in the name of this agreement.

I guess I’m questioning what has changed in the past two months to lead you to think this AIP shouldn’t be looked at seriously in its current form? This time two months ago the CDC recommended the public to not travel for the holidays. Not too long after that, Jetblue increased its cash burn guidance to 7-9 million. Last week the CDC announced mandatory testing for Int’l travelers returning to the states. Things have changed, but they really haven’t been for the better. We got a PSP extension and the vaccine distribution has started to pick up recently.

I get that they need us for the AA/JB deal, A220, LR flying....but until I see some improvement in the financials, will I feel
comfortable saying that furloughs aren’t a threat or we should just disregard the current AIP.

I agree. I’m not sure what has changed? More variants of COVID. According to the UK apparently now more “deadly”. CDC saying you must get tested before entering the USA. Let’s see what
happens when the first plane is delayed past 0001 and how that situation is handled.

Couple things stick out. New admin obviously, but also a Senate to go with Biden’s agenda. He’s ready to throw another 2 trillion in relief packages. He’s just getting started. Aside from that, Delta announced they expect to profitable by 2nd or 3rd quarter this year. Frontier is hiring. Spirit is recalling their extended leave peeps and talking about summer classes. Southwest cancelled all their WARN notices. Obviously their data analysts are seeing something we’re not privy to. I can only assume future bookings are rapidly climbing. The vaccine rollout seems to more defined now. I have seen several prominent Democrats advocating for an end to lockdowns. The mainstream media is basically an of arm of the Democratic Party. You don’t think they’re gonna stop pumping this Covid fear now that they have mission accomplished? They want Biden to succeed. That won’t happen with an economy in ruins.

These are just a few things that come to mind in the last 6 weeks. And JetBlue is gonna be the only LCC to furlough when the recovery is gearing up? We’re not widebody exposed. The playing field has been leveled for the first time since JetBlues inception. They have opportunities now that were never possible before. They were in a great position to weather this storm. And NOW in May they’re gonna furlough? I don’t see that. I think we’re getting played. I’m all for meeting the company half way, but a 2% pay raise ain’t doing much for me. I’m going to reiterate what Copy has been preaching: now is the perfect time to get our profit sharing formula back. I’m very, very skeptical of this upcoming TA, but we shall see.

They came to us, and they really want this. One thing I love about our company is the scope language. I’m concerned about management coming to us and asking to give that up.

I couldn’t agree more. I am no longer worried about furloughs, I’m worried about missed opportunities for contractual gains. I am not sure we will get a better profit sharing formula but I do think 3% raise in cola would set a great precedent going into negotiations in 2022.

According to the system chief in a very recent recurrent, bookings are nada, nil, nonexistent. None for spring or summer. Take it for what it’s worth; I only mention it because that’s the party line. The atmosphere at lunch was as depressing as the sandwiches.

Our heavy focus in NYC and Boston is absolutely eating this company alive unfortunately. People can say we don’t do much business oriented travel or we have no wide-bodies, but the proof is in our cash burn. Hope it gets better.
