That’s a great guess however highly doubtful, considering the average LF in ‘19 was 78%, and average daily departures was under 1000. This is historically a very slow time for airlines so no way we would have hit your numbers even in ‘19. Also if you look back through the data Tuesday has seen 1/2 the number of daily departures as weekend flights.

I never said recovery was right around the corner, although I do expect it to begin in the coming months for reasons I stated earlier. I don’t think it’s unrealistic to think 60% of 2019 loads this summer and 75% by next December. In that case, does it make sense to furlough in May? That will cost the company a huge chunk of money, and they lose the ability to react quickly to market demand. I’m not saying they won’t do it, but if this TA doesn’t look right, it’s a risk I’m willing to take. I have 25 plus years left in this career, and I’m not going to comprise it by outsourcing our jobs for a 6 month furlough.
Any of the guys who came up through the regionals should know exactly what I’m talking about. Now, if the TA allows us to dig our way out with this AA partnership, is for a short term duration with strong snap back language, then it’s something I can entertain. At this point, I just feel like the Union should be asking for a little bit more in return. Also, I’m not even saying we need to go back to the previous PS formula, but how about they sit down and rework the formula like they assured us they would? Is that asking too much? I don’t think so. These are just my opinions. Everyone is entitled to their own views.

Let me ask this.
The company announces a huge deal with AA that will also bring growth for us and allow us to expand over the pond. I have been told on here it’s a great deal for both companies. Do you really think they will just let that go? Say screw you pilots we will burn down the company,
I don’t know exactly what it is they need but we have it apparently. I’ll wait to see the language but I’m not in a hurry to say sure here you go please don’t furlough.
(Not aimed at you)
Now the funny thing is our scope language that many said was not very important because the company agreed to it pretty quickly. Apparently it was important after all.
All I know as others have said this isn’t about the next 6 months this is about years, again it will depend on the language and if it has clear end dates or snap backs or something. We need to be very careful and not go down the road of OMG the company is dying and they are going to furlough, so let’s sign.
(respectfully)
They need relief from 1.F in the CBA. Right now, the number of block hours in the previous 12 months is lower than the block hours in the 12 months before that (2020 hours were lower than 2019). At some point this year, the lookback will contain enough of the reduced flying from 2020, to where the previous 12 month block will be greater than the 12 months before that. At that point, I'd imagine they could run a new hire class and then press on with the code share without needing any CBA relief.

we can’t get it when times are bad( the company is close to death and we might furlough)
we can’t get it unless they get something from us but they aren’t offering it even though they want something so it’s best to move on. Just don’t ask they already said no. 2% and a waiting room it is.
