First of all..... I wasn’t trying to be nasty to you. I was just trying to get you to look at it from a different point of view since maybe you didn’t get why AA wanted to be associated with this alliance. I still believe it’s very good for both Jetblue and AA and a lot more expansive than I first thought. If you can’t see how this alliance is a big win for the companies themselves, absent the pilots, then I’m sorry.
Now I get a chance to vote on it as a pilot, and the negatives outweigh the positives.

Having come from another union airline, I appreciate what it means to erode scope language. It should never come cheap.
If I get furloughed, I'll more than likely get recalled and it will be to a strong contract that will serve me well at what I hope is my forever airline.

who is picking a fight? I’m glad you agree with me now. I was just reminding you about your post.
Respectfully
This was easy to figure out before even reading the language. In my almost 10 years here almost NOTHING has ever worked to our advantage without a massive fight. The company messed up they didn’t get what they thought they got and worked on this huge deal with AA they even announced it. Now they expect us to say oh that’s not a problem here you go and thanks for the 2%. Nope not after the giant FU from them on PS and the rest of their hollow words. Nope nope nope.
OK - I’m just fishing here... I want to at least try to stay open minded here. Can anyone explain why we should vote “yes” to this giveaway?
I understand that this agreement would benefit both corporations, and, of course, that could, maybe, trickle down to us somehow. I also clearly understand that the survival of my company matters more than anything else, so spare me the fear based arguments, please. Just take that out of the equation, because every pilot knows the goose could die on ANY day, in ANY conditions. That is completely out of our hands.
However, I was underwhelmed by the CBA, too, and came to realize that one of the stronger sections was section one. We had less value elsewhere in the contract, in exchange for higher value in section one. Fine.
Now the company wants me to give up some of that section one premium, but they are essentially offering nothing of real value in return? The company is punking us big time here. There are so many low or no cost QOL sweeteners they could have offered.
This is exactly when we negotiate profit sharing, too. If the company really said “don’t even ask”, our guys should have packed up and gone home.
Why should we give up our strongest language for nothing? The only guaranteed money here is the measly 2%, which is just an insult - a joke offering they have to be laughing at.

Bottom 10% guy here. I’ve gone from a probably yes after the bullet points to a most likely no after today. It gives us what, 6 additional months of furlough protection? I just don’t see that it gains us much of anything, and gives the company a LOT.

How did the LEC vote 12-2?!?
One could argue they just passed it so the pilot group would vote it down or they just passed it to be neutral and let the pilot group decide for themselves. Either of those really scare me with this group. People voted yes to the CBA without even reading it. And some people will look at that 12-2 vote as meaning this is a good deal for the pilots.

Do you honestly think there’s a chance of furloughs at this point? Obviously, things could always change, but right now do you think it’s probable that they furlough? Other airlines are recalling people and some are even talking about hiring and opening hiring windows. The other work groups are safe from furlough through something like September or October (for giving up nothing), right? Is the minimal threat of furlough worth giving up hard earned scope protections for 10 years?!?
