Did you watch/listen to the latest quarter presentation to Wall Street, because they repeatedly said the opposite of that. Or have you heard something different?

I don’t know anything. Where we getting the planes/people to staff another base they want to have 60 flights a day.

I’m just a button pusher worried about losing me seat and base.

Guess we will see on Monday.

We already operate 60 flights a day there. We have something like 12 originators. We have a FA and Mx base.
This just saves the company money in LIMOs and hotels.

But like you said, you don’t know anything.

60 flights a day equals how big of pilot base?

No real idea…
But a rough wag off of airline management math:
12 originators a day is 12 airplanes, figure about another six at least working through a day.
18 airplanes x 11 pilots per (industry average) is about 200 pilots per seat.
I’d say that’s gonna be close.
We’ll know more Monday.

Off topic but why doesn’t the company utilize global opentime more often? They leave these trips sitting in open time as premium in base but don’t give pilots out of base any opportunity to pick them up. They don’t even have to pay for the DH if the trip is out of global opentime. Doesn’t make complete sense to me.

That sounds like a great idea. However, I don’t believe they want to be called unless it is urgent.
