From what I hear, 107 got the nod from the Oct DB, which makes the pool about 150 deep. If anyone has any other news, please pass it among. Bacon
Bacon, any information from PD? I received a call on the 22nd but haven't heard from PD yet. Thanks!

Give me a break. Any organization with thousands of people all taken from the same applicant pool, prospective pilots, is going to be very similar if not downright indistinguishable. SWA people are no different, no better, no worse than the guys and gals at any other major US airline. I do agree that the employment atmosphere and culture at SWA is probably better than some other airlines but as far as the jerk ratio being any lower, I seriously doubt it.
Before you tell me that SWA screens all applicants for a certain personality type, which they probably do, tell me what major airline does not.
OBTW thats one more "jerk" than I flown with at DAL in the last 9 years.

I'd like to see some more civilian background guys who were successful post their flight times/experience. I got my B737 type in the spring of last year (2007) but have not gotten an interview.

Congratulations to all who were hired.

Best of luck you all of you on the Nov DB! I can attest to that difficult wait. It is a lot of stress, but worth it all once you get the call. Stay possitive and keep the faith!

Hey to all you potential SWA poolies -- hang in there, it is definately worth the wait! Don't listen to the negative vibes from non-SWA pilots -- stay focused on the brass ring. I spent over a year in the pool and just recently completed my IOE; now I'm a flying "qualifed" FO. It CAN happen to you -- keep the faith and good luck--
