They are desperate to try to contain the leaks in the dike. PtP and the uptick in propoganda efforts are just fingers in the dike (along with the one's in their ears) and attempts to deflect attention away from ANY change in the power structure.

Why do you think the IDEA of the DPA holds sway with approaching one third of the pilot group? Everybody knows whats going on with the NC, and the pitiful "all is well" nonsense just makes them look even more ridiculous.

Okay Columbo. You keep saying this is about unity and the pilots. I'm not sure how big the mec is but youve now added in the PtP on top of the entire structure which must now be approaching 500 pilots that you don't like. Where will you draw the line at which Delta pilots will be allowed to survive your DPA Overcomes Union-cronyism by Cleansing House Excorsism program?

The vast majority of pilots doing union work return to the line to work under the agreements they help complete.
Wait a minute. I thought that we used highly skilled (and compensated) negotiators (lawyers) from national in our negotiations (i.e. professional negotiators). If these professionals never once tried to interfere, then why do we use them, pay them and profess their greatness?

Wow, so DPA legal also claims that we would lose an $8m war chest. Ouch.

DALPA doesn't want unity. They want unanimity. Two completely different things.

There is no dissent permitted in the Politburo.

Ironically, I suspect that the contract opener will look very much like a Soviet era 5 year plan, and will be about as effective: "True, citizen, life will continue to be tough, but take pride that your labors will go to promote the greater glory of the Motherland!"

Maybe Clamp can hook us up with some Soviet underboob.

I heard if the ALPA guys hadn't been there they wouldn't have even had a quorum. Is that really true. The avalanche is snowballing and the proof is the oversold ATL meeting? Roll up the sidewalks kids!
I guess the AJC story confirms that morsel:Maybe he could strenuously object.

It appears the Government Affairs Committee Vice Chairman for DPA has made a racist post on the Dalpa website. I Had no idea this person works for DPA but if you have read his past posts you really have to question how DPA could hire him. His latest racist post just continues his past trends.

^^^^^^^ I'm sure it invalidates the entire movement. Time to go home. Nothing to see here. Move on.

Just 1 opinion and 1 vote among 12000 plus pilots.
You're right finis, DALPA does negotiate our contracts and the Delta pilots certainly shoulder some of the blame for ratifying those contracts.

How much money does DALPA send to national every year? 20 + million? I'd bet Delta / UCAL make up at least half of the money that ALPA national takes in. The problem is that ALPA uses that money to help pay for all kinds of services for the regional carriers such as lawyers, aero medical etc. Could that money not be better spent if it was all allocated to just helping out the Delta pilots?

The conflict of interest is that we are financially supporting pilot groups that are doing DELTA flying. Many of the services that we get through ALPA like aeromedical are outsourced anyway. Why not just pay to support Delta pilots and not the pilots that are performing our flying?

I am not completely sold on DPA; that being said, I am certainly willing to look at that option. C2012 is going to be huge for DALPA, in my opinion that will make or break the transition to DPA.
