The membership at large has COMPLETELY lost their faith in how the process works. EVERY ALPA announcement goes in the trash and is treated with utter skepticism, at least in my obersvation.
The relentless bleating by the DALPA Illuminati versus the DPA and others who dare voice an opinion is nothing but cover fire for a administration that considers the membership opinion as COMPLETELY irrelevant.
They are desperate to try to contain the leaks in the dike. PtP and the uptick in propoganda efforts are just fingers in the dike (along with the one's in their ears) and attempts to deflect attention away from ANY change in the power structure.
Why do you think the IDEA of the DPA holds sway with approaching one third of the pilot group? Everybody knows whats going on with the NC, and the pitiful "all is well" nonsense just makes them look even more ridiculous.

There is certainly a conflict. However I have know those who worked on the highest levels in contract negotiations. I have asked many times if ALPA national ever tried to interfere in our contract talks. The answer was always never. Alpa is a associations. DALPA is my union. The vast majority of pilots doing union work return to the line to work under the agreements they help complete.

Okay Columbo. You keep saying this is about unity and the pilots. I'm not sure how big the mec is but youve now added in the PtP on top of the entire structure which must now be approaching 500 pilots that you don't like. Where will you draw the line at which Delta pilots will be allowed to survive your DPA Overcomes Union-cronyism by Cleansing House Excorsism program?
There is no dissent permitted in the Politburo.
Ironically, I suspect that the contract opener will look very much like a Soviet era 5 year plan, and will be about as effective: "True, citizen, life will continue to be tough, but take pride that your labors will go to promote the greater glory of the Motherland!"
Maybe Clamp can hook us up with some Soviet underboob.

More predictions from Carl. I'm surprised you left the jackboots out. Oh, wait. None of that happened, again. Room for 150 pilots x 2 and they barely had enough to eat two dozen donuts. Ouch!
I heard if the ALPA guys hadn't been there they wouldn't have even had a quorum. Is that really true. The avalanche is snowballing and the proof is the oversold ATL meeting? Roll up the sidewalks kids!

It appears the Government Affairs Committee Vice Chairman for DPA has made a racist post on the Dalpa website. I Had no idea this person works for DPA but if you have read his past posts you really have to question how DPA could hire him. His latest racist post just continues his past trends.

Maybe I'm forgetful but I don't remember ALPA negotiating 1 contract in 30 plus years.DALPA has negotiated every contract and the scope issues we have we did to ourselves and we've learned a painful lesson. No more! However I don't believe the Detroit Pilot Asspciation is the answer,I think there are hidden agendas and disgruntled pilots who think everything bad in our careers is caused by the bogeyman ALPA.Get real guys.I don't like the way our country is going but I'm not ready to overthrow our government.
Just 1 opinion and 1 vote among 12000 plus pilots.

How much money does DALPA send to national every year? 20 + million? I'd bet Delta / UCAL make up at least half of the money that ALPA national takes in. The problem is that ALPA uses that money to help pay for all kinds of services for the regional carriers such as lawyers, aero medical etc. Could that money not be better spent if it was all allocated to just helping out the Delta pilots?
The conflict of interest is that we are financially supporting pilot groups that are doing DELTA flying. Many of the services that we get through ALPA like aeromedical are outsourced anyway. Why not just pay to support Delta pilots and not the pilots that are performing our flying?
I am not completely sold on DPA; that being said, I am certainly willing to look at that option. C2012 is going to be huge for DALPA, in my opinion that will make or break the transition to DPA.
