Most people who are knowledgable in business and economics gain utility from tangible benefits like money. Yet, here you are full of appreciation for a helpful Captain. Tell me, what utility do your wife and kids gain from that because I'm quite sure you couldn't take that home to the bank.

There is much to be said for a father/mother who are happy at work they are sure to be better to their kids. I know way to many legacy alpa goons with multiple divorces kids are d-bags and happiness is foreign without alcohol. ALPA did a ton for these folks. If this guy can live his life and spread joy to others then the world should thank him.

Have you studied occupational psychology and the statistics on parental behaviour as a function of being at a non union carrier that compensates Pilots below average? Have you measured the effects of well below average health insurance on families?

Have you compared the statistics of divorced Pilots at union and non union carriers and come to the conclusion that more marriages ended because of ALPA?

How does an indiviudual who, "by your assertion" spreads joy, not as a result of being well compensated, but as a result of getting a warm and fuzzy by flying with a cool Captain, help our profession?

If he is looking for a warm and fuzzy and not industry standard benefits, maybe he should work for Disney. That way he can go home "every night" and spread all the joy he can bring from work.

I think it's about time we set, the blue juice and, sky is falling in B6 attitude, aside! Let the new comers enjoy the moment! This is, after all, an information thread about B6 poolies. After all dusts settles down and they become comfortable in B6, they will form their own opinions about this place.
For now let us welcome the new jB pilots to our loving family!
If any of you, new hires, have any questions about JB training, equipment, etc; please, do not hesitate to PM me, and I'll be happy to provide you with answers, or direct you to the right person for answers. I'm sure you'll enjoy your training here.

Okay back on topic. Is it all 190 positions or is it 320 positions as well? I started last summer and I have had a line since December the 320 guys from my class are still on reserve.

There were 14 unfilled JFK E190 positions from the last supplemental bid. I would assume the 8/29 and 9/19 classes will be all JFK 190. After we get the September System bid next week we might get an idea of any future unfilled vacancies.

Thank you sir! The "latest and greatest" thread has been dormant for months. I really wish they would take it over there at least.

It would also be nice to know about how far into the pool they got when calling to fill the classes. Anyone have any idea?

I e-mailed our new "lifeguards" in pilot recruitment, here's what they said:

"We've recently filled 2 classes for a total of 8 new hire Pilots. We're still waiting for final numbers and dates for possible additional classes in 2012.

Regards,
Pilot Recruitment"
