PEA has no legal value, the same with 5 documents if, or more like, when we marge with another carrier. Watch the latest CFO video and I hope you will see beyond the bs Barger is selling. JetBlue is much better place then all regional airlines out there, but has no true future for long term employment without CBA protection.

You post opinion. Nothing else.

As for your "information", look at the yearly reports from the last several years. Compare our total fleet size year after year and then try to LIE again about not growing.

All anyone needs to do to decide whether or not to believe a word that you say is to compare the annual reports. They will know you have NO credibility.

Can someone shed light on JetBlue's medical benefits? It's a common complaint I hear about Jetblue, and I just wanted to know the reasons.

Fleet size is irrelevant. Utilization and block hours are what counts. You could gain airframes, but if utilization drops it will very likely be a wash at best.

its pretty bad. Get ready to pay a substantial amount of money if you have a family. Probably would be cheaper to decline the insurance and go out and buy your own, no kidding.

The reason : no cba

Unlike a pilot group who is able to negotiate rates JetBlue imposes new rates on its employee groups. The airline is also self ensured which allows it to set rates. Over the next 4 years JetBlue is shifting 80% of the cost to the employee group.
No other airline is doing this.
Feel free to email any of the insurance committee members.

I won't tell you to accept or decline a job with JetBlue. I will tell you we currently have the highest rates and the worst coverage of any major airline. In 2010 we paid a minimum of 20% more than other major airlines. In 2011 JetBlue raised the rates by 33%. October of 2012 will be very telling of JetBlues plans for employee insurance. The current reports from the PVC are not very good.

Not even close. It will cost me over 700 more per month more then the current JetBlue plan I am on and it dosen't come out pre tax, and that is just for the equivilant care. The problem is health care is going through the roof every where not just JetBlue. Unless we get a CBA and can negotiate a better health care program we are stuck with the same low budget health care as our rampies/gate agents and flight attendants have. If you have a family it is not so good, if you are single and no dependants it isn't bad. It will be interesting to see what happens to our Health Care rates in October.

That is why our ASM is going up 6% next year. We are growing it is just wether the been counter will let ops hire and how many will they hire.

Careful, ASM growth can be deceiving in the next years with the addition of the A321s. 180-190 seats per plane compared to 150 seats now will jack that ASM figure. Block hours might be a better way to compare 'growth' year-over-year.

Utilization (hours per day per aircraft average)
2007 12.8
2008 12.1
2009 11.5
2010 11.6
2011 11.7

Total aircraft (avg)
2007 127.8
2008 139.5
2009 148.0
2010 153.5
2011 164.9

Average hours per day (utilization X aircraft)
2007 1635.84
2008 1687.95
2009 1702
2010 1780.6
2011 1929.33

8% growth from 2010 to 2011, which is sizeable, but 1-4% previous years

Everything has increased every year. Every way you want to measure it, we are growing. He is not telling the truth.

Very true. Take the north/south flying as an example. The frequency with the 320 will most likely shrink with the addition of the 321. Not to knock the airline because it is all business but growth numbers are misleading. For example DCA is the new buzz city while IAD has completely lost all FLL flying.
Growth is very good but much of it may come from alliances and code shares. Again, good for business but not necessarily good for JetBlue pilots.
