Friend of mine who was #38 in the pool back in February got the call today for the Oct 17th class. Class should be around 21 people for the 17th and around 12 for the November 7th class. I'm guessing a few people must have found other work over the last year or are deferring a class. Hopefully the supplemental bid will be out by tomorrow to shed some more light on future hiring needs!
Anyone else get called yet that was higher than #38? I agree people are bypassing at an alarming rate. Good for me sitting in the 50s initially.

I got a surprise call yesterday for the 7 Nov class. Not sure the class size yet. I was #63 in the pool last I heard (a few months ago). I'm a "blue dart", interviewed 9 Nov, 0830, last year. Not sure if there are a bunch of folks by-passing or what. I was told I could defer one class, but there was no mention of when the next class might be. Needless to say, I took the 7 Nov offer (pending a re-background check, drug test, etc.). Glad the swim is almost over. Good luck to the rest of the poolies.

Yeah I think I was bypassed but who really knows for sure. I know the pool positions have jumped around some the past 12 months since I interviewed. (oct 14th afternoon). Last I heard I was in the 53 range in the pool and no word yet. I did not have a blue dart.
I was almost sure I was set for 11/7 but now I'm not so sure; Hopefully we will all hear something sooner than later.

They are not calling exactly in order. A co worker and I both interviewed on the same day and time. He was slightly ahead of me in the pool. I got the call for the Oct 17 class first thing in the morning last Wednesday. He did not get the call until late in the day and was sitting by his phone waiting.

Hang in there guys, I was you last month. The out of order hiring really gets you down, I completely understand. Just when the light is getting brighter at the end of the tunnel, it's a train. Try not to hang on these posts, it just creates extra anxiety on both you and your family. The swim is getting shorter, you'll be here soon.
