Dude, do yourself a little favor. Do some research and learn what Jetblues compensation package is compared to "real majors". The answer is obvious.
Leaving VX for JetBlue is a lateral move. For example, retirement at delta will yield over $1,000,000 more than JetBlue.

Ok, you have a 4 yr degree. Good! I am assuming that, because you have no TPIC, you are quite young?
It is going to be competitive. Lots of guys with degrees and TPIC. JB is a stepping stone. If you have time on your side, do what you have to do but the going rate for Captains on narrow medium bodies is now approx $200+ per hour at the real Majors. Good luck.

Thanks for the thoughts, guys.
Obviously it is a lateral move, and yes it's a stepping stone to better places, but sometimes you have to make a lateral move. If you get stuck somewhere (like that's never happened in this profession...9/11, oil/economy, age 65, to name a few) it is better to get stuck at the better place to be at. Thus, my seeking of opinions. I never pass up a job opportunity without analyzing it thoroughly.
Truly, I feel with regards to pay and QOL, I'm just fine staying here at Virgin. However, their business plan scares the hell out of me and I don't have all the confidence they'll stick around. If I do get stuck, I don't want it to be somewhere that tanks.

We already have people leaving for Ual and they are planning 40 per month starting in Feb. Most are waiting to hear about Dal and Swa. Don't make the lateral move if you don't have to.

I agree, I can't see anyone in there right mind leaving UA, DAL or SWA for JB. VX I can understand if you we're hired early this year or late last year.

I heard the site was funded by the company. If that's the case then we know what happened.
