I just registered for the Vets in Blue seminar next week. I did not see info on whether one should expect an invite or just show up. Imagine it would be bad form to show up when a space is not available.

They are asking for attendees to bring a DD 214 or other proof of service.

If you want to get off reserve ASAP, the E190 is the way to go.

Hope they like flying red eyes because that's all they are going to see, and after two years of doing them myself it's starting to wear me out. I'm thinking I will transfer to the 190. It takes at least 5-6 years to see no redeyes.

This posted recently on this thread.

17OCT2012 8-12 10 E190 11 A320
7NOV2012 9-12 6 E190 5 A320
5DEC2012 10-12 10 E190
9JAN2013 1-13 6 E190
23JAN2013 2-13 8 E190
13FEB2013 3-13 6 E190 4 A320
27FEB2013 4-13 4 E190
13MAR2013 5-13 7 E190 4 A320
27MAR2013 6-13 10 E190

Anyone confirm accurracy? So far it looks like solid info.

What I gathered from other posts was they got through at least #48 for the 7 Nov class, and called at least #68 for the 5 Dec class.

Anyone have updates?

Numbers for 8-12 and 9-12 were spot on. We'll just have to see on the other ones.

This is utter nonsense. If you are on reserve then you have no choice, but with a line some of the most junior trips have no redeyes. I bid about halfway up the list on the bus fo JFK and I never fly them, by choice. From the day I held a line I didn't fly redeyes unless I wanted to. Even this week I fly a 4 day west coast with a grand total of 0 red eyes.

Red eye trips have their advantages... They are often very commutable, and have decent overnights. For me, I live in base and bid 25 hr 4 days.... Not the most exciting layovers usually unless the trip starts or ends with a SXM or such... and they are completely uncommutable, but for me they are fairly productive.

On reserve, how many reserve days are long-call, and how many are short call? Is it any different between 190 and Airbus?
