I'm not sure why you feel this way? Is your life this bad? Is working at JetBlue that bad? If so I am sorry for you. Must not be that bad if your still here? Where would you rather go?
*The reason that disciplinary action is up is a lack of professionalism as stated in the PVC email. There are plenty of examples of that and you know it. I guess the pilots are heading toward rock bottom to as far as values are concerned? Not sure what you read? Maybe you should read it again.
*COO call was very telling? I listen to it each month. What was so telling? The fact that there will be more growth than previously stated? Many new cities to come? Extra airframes than the 14? The PEA stuff is being worked on.......
The value system of who the pilots or manangement? Or are you only holding management accountable while all of us JB pilots are out "walking on water"?
Management is running an airline. The value system is not being reduced. Talk to all those were affected by Sandy and how much not only JB did as well as the crewmembers too.
Have you ever been furloughed? Have you ever been jobless? What is SO bad about this job that you think it is getting worse and worse and it is so bad that you are willing to stay?
I personally enjoy this job and this airline. Well worth the wait! I also enjoy the direction this airline is going, unlike many other carriers! Things continue to get better here everyday. Some people you can never make happy...EVER!
Good look to future JB pilots! To the new ones welcome aboard great to have you here!

Is live that bad? Well that depends. 5-10 years of constantly broken promises? 12+ years of below industry average compensation, yet management has lied to us year after year about what was "industry average". Ever decreasing productivity, crap work rules IMPOSED by Sandoval in FSM2010. Where would one go? Well, many are trapped there because of the lack of hiring at the other majors (it is a timing thing), to old to change (about to retire, too old to recover what you would lose leaving), too senior to change, etc.

The real problem is not the pilots, but the lack of consistancy from management. Letting BOOB/IPJB/Pro-management/Anti-union types get by with many violation, and not terminating any of them, while going 110% after pro-union/pro-ALPA/pro-pilot pilots with massive disipline, termination, etc. Yes, we all have an issue every not and then. However, the total lack of a support system (legal, advocates and a true dispute process) make each pilot an individual against the JetBlue and forces them to defend themselves and fund that defense out of thier own pocket. In addition, there is no consistancy in displine nor in the process.

I think you read way too much into what RM says in his propoganda sessions. More growth? Much of the hiring will be to replace pilots leaving, and to cover the needs of the new FARs for rest and duty time. Yes, there will be aircraft on the plus side, but he fails to mention how many will be lease return or sold off (JetBlue standard for the last 7 years). What is the NET increase? As for the "many new cities". We need new cities in the carribian and South/Central America like we need the E190. We need new cities to develope our domestic route structure, not more island and S/C AM. We need to have a balanced route and income plan, not put all of out eggs in one basket (yet, that is EXACTLY what we are doing). Management is thinking way too much short term, vs truely building and growing the company to survivive the good and bad times.
As for PEA stuff, that is just a line of Bull $h1t! JetBlue ELT has no intention of making any real changes to our PEA. Why? They don't want to. They want the flexiabliy that our current POS PEA has. They dont' want to give us real protections, real retirement, real compensation, real work rules. Why? IT COST MONEY! or IT REDUCES THIER FLEXIBLITY TO DO WHAT EVER THEY WANT! If you would read the PVC emails and talk to them, you would realize that management has no real plans to do anything to improve our PEA.
The value system of who the pilots or manangement? Or are you only holding management accountable while all of us JB pilots are out "walking on water"?
No, we dont' walk on water. We have our flaws, short comings. However, we get more LIES AND SPIN from our management than from the pilot group/PVC. How many broken promises have we had over the last 5-10-13 years! If management really followed the Caring, Safety, Integrety value, things would be different. There would have been no JBPA or ALPA drive in 2008/2011. Management lies and they have no values.
Management is running an airline. The value system is not being reduced. Talk to all those were affected by Sandy and how much not only JB did as well as the crewmembers too.
Yes, running an airline at our expense. What happened to shared responsibilty and shared profits. We have recevied record profits last year and this year. Yet, we get NOTHING in profit sharing. At least management has finially admitted that our 5% min profit sharing is really retirement. But that leaves us with NO profit sharing to speak of. I got about $20 dollars last year and expect the same this year. When I first came to JetBlue we got 15.5%, 17% and 10% profit sharing. I NEVER expect to see those numbers again, but I should still see something that is between 5 and 10%. Yet, we won't.
Have you ever been furloughed? Have you ever been jobless? What is SO bad about this job that you think it is getting worse and worse and it is so bad that you are willing to stay?
Yes, many at JetBlue have been furloughed, but many have not. There is no doubt in my mind that the stress of a furlough cannot be explained to someone who has not. And, yes, JetBlue has not furloughed yet! However, that is only because we have not need to do so, and that is the ONLY reason why we have not. Even in 2008 when we reduced flying a signficant amount (oil=$150 per barrel), we did not need to furlough. Yes bid divisors when down to 70-75, but they never went below 70, thus no need to furlough.
With our current PEA enviorment, you can bet that IF JetBlue needed to reduce pilot manning, they would Furlough and then make them all fight to get thier PEA definined benefits. Can you imagine someone on furlough, trying to use the DIRECT RELATIONSHIP, funding tens of thousands of dollars legal fees in an attemnt to get thier PEA stated pay? All the while with no income or furlough benefits (like ALPA has). Look how long it has taken to get 3A? No pilot could do this on their own, and that is why JetBlue likes the PEA. Most would just go away, and if someone did fight and get there pay, no one else would know about it due to a NDA.
I personally enjoy this job and this airline. Well worth the wait! I also enjoy the direction this airline is going, unlike many other carriers! Things continue to get better here everyday. Some people you can never make happy...EVER!
There is nothing wrong with enjoying this job. However the "joy" is gone. The fun of helping build the company is over. Instead, the company is built on our backs and at our expense. The pilots I fly with are good guys. But the companys sucks in how it treats us. The last 5-7 years is proof. I came here drinking the koolaid and liking the non-union program. However, it only took me a year or twoto see the lies and spin, along with the constant building of the coompany on the backs of the employees (like no pay raise from Oct 2001 until Apr 2007, and then only targeted to certain seats/types), the constant increase in medical cost, the constant reduction in quality of our work rules by INFO NOTICE, and slowly decreasing productivity. I enjoy the people I work with, but the job is no longer fun. It is just a job.
Good look to future JB pilots! To the new ones welcome aboard great to have you here!
Agreed. But everyone that is applying and comes to JetBlue need to know the facts and truth. Not the spin and lies from the BOOB/IPJB/Pro-management type pilots or what they hear from management. All need to listen to what you are told, but take it with a grain of salt and do your own reasearch. Learn the facts.
Just my opinion........

All spot on. Compensation is below average in all categories. That alone speaks volumes about the attitude toward Pilots.
