As I'm "just in the pool" I'll reserve judgement until I'm actually an employee, but I support the general concept of a CBA. I'm opposed to ALPA though. What are the other options?

Like many people, if the choice is ALPA or nothing I'll vote no every single time.
Too bad... Maybe take your own advice and wait till you get here. Talk to the guys who have been around for the last 8-12 years, then decide.

There are no other options and the DR has failed...

There are no other options and time is out. Sometimes you gotta pick the lesser of two evils. Do you really hate ALPA that much that you are willing to work at a carrier that won't insure you? Questions to ask yourself

Yes, I agree with the lesser of two evils. I just disagree about which is the lesser evil. Once they are voted in, they will never be voted out. Let's choose wisely, and not under duress.

Obviously I will be just one vote, so if I'm in the minority I'll have to go with the flow.

Anyway, I'll stop the thread drift now. How about those class dates!?!

Not heard of anyone being called for 12/5 yet. Last number that ran in sequence was around #48 going to 11/7 class. One single guy that was 69 or so was also called for 11/7, but as far as we have heard everyone else was pretty much in sequence of initial pool position. I'm guessing the 12/5 calls will start in 2-3 weeks. Good luck!! I'm sitting at 53 (I think) and no word yet.

Directly from the Chief Pilot during recurrent ground school this week. Hiring 150 pilots next year. If the economy keeps climbing, then the plans will be upped to accommodate 250 pilots next year.

What other airlines are hiring? Is JetBlue the only game in town?

Hiring: USAirways, Alaska, Hawaiian, Allegiant are the only major pax airlines I can think of. Probably some ACMI carriers and foreign types like Emirates.

I am hoping for 250 newhires in 2013 here, but prepared for 0. Good luck to all.
