While I agree you are home often on A320 reserve (I fly about an average of 4 days a month), your line is constructed each month with 18 reserve days. So your award is either 12 or 13 days off each month. After adjustment windows close, you are (typically) awarded 2 Pre-release days (PRLs). So you end up with 14 or 15 days off depending on if it's a 30 or 31 day bid period.
Still a great deal, just not 17 scheduled days off. At least not for JFK.

Oddly enough, I never did 5 legs in the 190, but have done it twice in the 320. Go figure… while I love the 'bus your QOL will improve much quicker on the 190, in my experience. Ymmv. At any rate, welcome aboard to all. We're glad to see you all drying off finally!

Year to date 136 hrs.
Reserve on the A-320 is not bad if, you like to stay home with the family and have extra days off. Believe it or not, I'm typically in my own bed 22-26 nights a month with all the REL and PRL days. Although, depending on your seniority, it could be much worse.

Sorry if this is the wrong thread for this question, but has anyone heard whether JB will start hiring off the street anytime soon? I submitted my application a year ago. I continue to update my profile. Is that all I need to do, or do I need to resubmit it completely?

With all Legacies retirements and upcoming hiring, JB will loose a lot of guys, especially the bottom 25% of qualified pilots, that see no movement or upgrades on the horizon. I say qualified, because JB was hiring a lot of FO in 2010 and 11, with no PIC. JB management knew, the legacies will eventually start hiring, and JB doesn't want to loose too many no voters. The word is 76 new pilots next year, but it can go up to over a 100 really quick. Just wait and see. By 2018, you'll be able to pick and choose an airline you want to work for. 2014 is the year JB will finally start taking more new A/C deliveries, up until then most deliveries are replacement. Organic Growth my @ss!

Is they delay current employers sitting on PRIA? I can't imagine anything else in the "refresh" could take very long.

For no upgrades on the horizon? The latest supplemental bid showed guys upgrading at 5 years seniority.
Jetblue's delivery schedule shows for every 10 planes delivered, 3 are retired. It's been that way for a couple years now. Not sure where you are getting your information.

I received an employment agreement package via FDX on Thursday afternoon along with 3 emails regarding the class on Friday, 2 from the Training Dept, 1 from HR. Military, no PRIA to deal with.

I actually never got a cleared phase II letter last summer when I started. A few people in my class got a congratulations on passing phase 2 letter about 3 weeks after we started, so I wouldn't be too worried about it. Unless you have something you are worried about in your past, your golden.
