"plus a premium of thirty percent (30%) of the ALV for the President and twenty-five percent (25%) of the ALV for all other Officers, Representatives and Committee Chairpersons."
Good money for the entrenched DPA insiders.

...you obfuscate, change the subject and launch into personal attacks...
...Carl is someone who never has to take responsibility for his diatribes...
...he simply packs up, insults anyone who disagrees with him, and then moves on to his next attacks...
...the type of extreme positions that the Carls in this world push for...
...You can thump your chest and make yourself look tough...
...Lloyd "meet you at the gates of hell" Hill returned to American pilots...
...Does anyone doubt that the "Carls" at Airtran read the first TA from their merger committee and were shouting to the heavens...
...Now those same "Carls" are probably suing ALPA claiming it's all ALPA's fault...
...Carl pushed for an extreme solution in the DAL/NWA case...
...Now Carl spends his time trying to tear everything down because he is mad that the world didn't treat him fairly...
...Now we have the Carls trying to tell us that the game was rigged...
...Pithy attacks and personal insults get you nowhere...
...Tough talk, hard bargaining, big balls...
...Carl doesn't care because he will be golden...

The US Constitution was never amended without following the prescribed process. The DPA Constitution is subject to the whims of a core group of unelected insiders without any notification to the membership and without any membership input on the amendments. Truly a top down "association."
The DPA constitution will go through the same process of writing and editing until such time they're voted in. That's when the process for amendments start.

Ahhhh. So DPA is not prepared to represent the Delta pilot after 4 years of preparation. Got it.

Why can't the DPA follow their own constitution, which any home owners association seems to be able to do?

I do understand how you might be embarrassed by the revelations of dues increases and sweet heart compensation packages of up to 30% premium pay for the select few and 25% for the other minions like Sol, Jerry and Mak buried in your Constitution. Good gig for the entrenched DPA insiders.

My contention remains that whoever ends up running DPA, is going to be picked from a bench we're all familiar with. The team jerseys might look a little different, but you'll recognize the numbers. What the last few pages of this thread reveal is that now they'll have a structure where they're completely insulated from the democratic process, and starting with a nice raise.
It's a power struggle, pure and simple.
The antics, gyrations, and constitutional twerking we've seen would be hilarious, except for two things: 1) we're talking about our careers, and 2) we're wasting precious activism on a very questionable dead-end.
Someone earlier posted Fielding's e-mail, which lets the DPA get a little distance from the previous writer's... excentric missives. It's very well written, as always. Often disingenuous, but certainly well-written. He spoke about apathy being a problem. I totally agree with him. It's unfortunate the DPA is hijacking an unknown (and unverified) number of activist members, for the benefit of whoever the "core of insiders" is.
