So, 3 and 1/2 months to IOE. That is as horrible as I suspected.

I'm just about reaching the time to upgrade. CRJ FO currently.
I know it's a personal decision and there are pros/cons to each.. but I'm curious as to some people's thoughts as to what to do.
The familiarity of the CRJ and shorter upgrade class time is attractive. However the efficiency of the ejet routes and getting an additional type sounds favorable as well.
If I knew I'd be getting a call from a major not long after upgrade, or 1000 TPIC.. I'd stick with the CRJ.... If I knew it'll be years until a major is calling, I'd rather go with the ERJ......

If you are bored after flying the left seat of the CRJ after 1,000 hours and the majors aren’t nibbling, there are lots of flying jobs out there. One 18 year Mesa CRJ CA just went to Envoy as an FO for the flow.

The training department is catching up so that time coming down a lot. My guess is 2-2 1/2 months now to IOE. Next year might be back to standard as we are caught up on training instructors and examiners.
Reserve looking like 1 month or less then you have a line depending when off IOE.

What I learned going through this is that when it's time you will get what you need next - and that's it. They rarely drop the ball in the training department. When you get your CPT enrollment, ATP (not Mesa) sends you the Shep Air stuff. Don't get all upset about the method - use the guide and don't study anything else ahead of time. Check your email and READ EVERYTHING - including the attachments. All your questions are answered there.
Study for the nearest alligator. You'll be drinking from a fire hose. Don't worry about systems or flows or profiles until after indoc. The tightest schedule comes between systems and FPT. The minute you finish systems learn the profiles and briefs. Don't worry about flows until sim training starts. FPT - learn the FMS , learn the profiles. They are on the test. Just do one thing at a time. For CPT concentrate on the Shep air stuff so you can pass the ATP test.

So don’t study anything prior to Indoc?
