Hey propeller, someone tried to bully/make fun of you stating that you play Xbox in the crew room?
Well, there are many Xbox streamers playing video games from their home, on FB and Twitch, making way more $$$ than what I'm making @ Mesa with Captain pay.
If you do play, more power to you.

This is on this same forum, from the UNITED Mainline side, on a similar MOU, not to Furlough, with different (much smarter) conditions though.
Keep in mind that United is in a far worse financial position as Mesa is.
They've been bleeding 25 TO 40 MILLIONS PER DAY every month for the past 6 month, where Mesa not only reported a quarterly profit while investing in our B737 cargo operation, but also is in the process of acquiring 20 new Ejets, FINANCED by Mesa.
The numbers don't add up!
Vote NO!!!
"Look, it's pretty obvious that the company outsmarted the union this time. They have shifted and put the "furlough" power into the pilot groups hands knowing that it will cause a divide amongst us.
Sure, you want to see some sort of furlough mitigation from the union out to us so we can vote on it.
But many of us are asking why are we even talking about this since this is a company screw up from back in April. They have been chipping away at this pilot group ever since.
A company who said they would negotiate in honest back in 2018 so we would have a new contract on time.
A company that spent United Continental Holdings profits to purchase aircraft to be flown by non United Pilots.
A company that announced (Through WARN Notices) furloughs of 2250.. but then announced an Early Out/Furlough Mitigation program to lower those numbers.. only to raise them by 600!
The damage that has been done will take years to fix.. keep that in mind.
And that isn't just within the union, it will also be between employee groups and management."

It was an awesome career choice. Back then the pay sucked for pilot..worse than Mesa..so I left flying..made bank..and then returned to do what I love. I chose Mesa specifically..because of the bases..and with the exception of you..the people here are the most enjoyable to work with. Next?

JO is definitely betting one or two more companies go down. He wants to have pilots available immediately to be able to pick up a contract for long term flying. If he gets the place to pre covid reserve numbers he won’t be able to do that. This is where the new Mesa financed ejets come in, or our 700s that are owned outright. I don’t know the status of the new ejets, and it will be interesting to see what goes down the next few
I’m on the chopping block, I’d rather get chopped than sit reserve for the next six months.

Here’s why the numbers don’t make sense. Market share.

The Company WILL NOT LOSE. The only ones who lose is us. IF it's voted down there will be furloughs - maybe not 490 but still furloughs, downgrades and base displacements. You want that vote No. You don't want that vote yes.

You seriously believe Mesa collecting resumes is evidence that the company isn't going to furlough? Are you insane? Come to me with that BS when there is actually a new hire sitting in indoc in PHX. Better yet when there is even a new hire class scheduled. Then, and only then, will you have a leg to stand on. Go on propellere, tell us when that next indoc is scheduled for, time and date please. I'm sure our currently let go new hires would love to know what apparently only you know. Go on, share with the pilot group big boy. When is that new hire class scheduled for?

Los Angeles Times:
United Airlines Holdings Inc. said Tuesday that it lost $1.63 billion in the second quarter as revenue plunged 87%, and it will operate at barely over one-third of capacity through September as the COVID-19 pandemic throttles air travel.
The Chicago airline burned through $40 million a day in the April-through-June quarter but said it will trim losses to $25 million a day in the current quarter by slashing costs.
... ... ...
There are about 250 pilots on reserve this month. If flying remains constant, I expect to see 250 pilots on reserve. That also depends of the min hours required for a line. If that goes up, more reserves.
My guess is that J.O. will furlough at some time. As MANY as needed, by also NOT to cross train pilots. The right balance will be the number.
To furlough 490 pilots, things have to get much worse. My guess is that a single CRJ-Ejet cross training event costs 30 to 50'000 dollars (2 to 3 month salary, hotel per diem, simulator, etc.).
Our mainline partners won't subsidize a single penny for that.
I'm sure J.O. doesn't want to pay for that.
Heck, we will pay some of those training costs indirectly when furloughs start in January of 2021.
With the 8 hours credit reduction over 3 month.
