Yeah it won’t differentiate pay, but bonuses are taxed at a flat rate which is usually a higher tax bracket than most people are in. That’s my point. And this money back will most likely be coded as a bonus and taxed as such

Voting no is in the best interest of the pilot group. How do you think the MOU concessions are going to go affect the next contract negotiations? Please explain that, leader of the babysharks.

Your starting one step backwards from a several year old contract right from the start. Everyone should shoot this concession “MOU” down.

BTW, Mesa on LinkedIn has pilots jobs posted and collecting resumes. Sounds like a place that is about to furlough. 🧐🤣😂🤣😂

Sometimes I seriously think some of these cats are management trying to sway the pilot group.
You seriously believe Mesa collecting resumes is evidence that the company isn't going to furlough? Are you insane? Come to me with that BS when there is actually a new hire sitting in indoc in PHX. Better yet when there is even a new hire class scheduled. Then, and only then, will you have a leg to stand on. Go on propellere, tell us when that next indoc is scheduled for, time and date please. I'm sure our currently let go new hires would love to know what apparently only you know. Go on, share with the pilot group big boy. When is that new hire class scheduled for?

Don’t assume so much bro, all I am saying is why does a company put out that they are hiring at the same time is putting out to their pilot group that they are furloughing? MEC is pushing the MOU hard.

It’s a question posed to you guys. Make up your mind.

My opinion, the market is cheap. Grab as many pilots as you can for as cheap as you can. You have a handful on here willing to take less pay. Notice the MOU doesn’t say anything about hiring while the MOU is in place? I didn’t see it, please correct me if I’m wrong.

Bonuses aren’t taxed any differently. They may be initially withheld at a higher rate. This myth needs to die.

Honestly I’m shocked that we’re even still replying to propjob. He’s probably the most junior FO online and plays xbox in the crew room. No offense to the junior guys but anyone really gonna be rallied by someone who’s been in the industry for 5 minutes and can’t vote anyway? He’s already changing careers to delivering boxes anyway. Sorry prop, just calling it how I see it. You don’t have enough skin in the game to influence anyone with your fresh wisdom. Cobra-Kai = Koala Kai
i haven’t made a decision on my vote but im sure not basing it on the trash posted on APC. Too bad our group went down the classless alley that the others have online when we were actually staying above for awhile through this. Free thinkers here, try some Socratic method vs group think.

But am I a FO that can’t vote or someone else? Maybe management or a CA? Am I going to FEDEX? Don’t believe everything you read on the internet.

Thanks for mentioning me there babyshark.

Your point is wrong. At the end of the year taxes are on total pay. If you were over taxed on the withholding you get it back. I just filled mine a couple of months ago. The gross adjusted income, including bonus, was all that determined the tax rate. A couple hundred dollars won’t likely throw you into a different bracket like a 30k bonus.

My point exactly. People are worried about the company not giving them money back if they accept this MOU. The amount of money you could or could not receive by taking this MOU shouldn’t even be a deciding factor. We all just got an email and it answers many of the questions that have been asked on here. Some people were right some people were dead wrong (propellere). This MOU is good thing people. Go read that email and then come back and tell me saving peoples jobs isn’t the right thing to do!
