I don’t think the furloughs are a bluff, but they are not as bad as the company is projecting. I’m guessing 225-275 total furloughed. Company will try to downgrade as many CA as they can get away with for cost. If I was a CA facing downgrade I would voluntarily furlough myself and go fly privately. Looks like a 747 FO job doesn’t sound too bad. There is always FEDEX 😂😂😂

 

This is on this same forum, from the UNITED Mainline side, on a similar MOU, not to Furlough, with different (much smarter) conditions though.

Keep in mind that United is in a far worse financial position as Mesa is.

They've been bleeding 25 TO 40 MILLIONS PER DAY for the past 6 month, where Mesa not only reported a quarterly profit while investing in our B737 cargo operation, but also is in the process of acquiring 20 new Ejets, FINANCED by Mesa.

The numbers don't add up!

A company that announced (Through WARN Notices) furloughs of 2250.. but then announced an Early Out/Furlough Mitigation program to lower those numbers.. only to raise them by 600!

The damage that has been done will take years to fix.. keep that in mind.
And that isn't just within the union, it will also be between employee groups and management."

This is ultimately the worst thing that could happen to the pilot group. The pilots are gonna be so divided for an undisclosed amount of time. Anyone else had an akward conversation about this in the cockpit yet? Not good for CRM that's for sure. Our minds are in other places partially while we should be still focused on flying. Bleed Duct warning today while trying to say our sides of the MOU lol... Stay safe out there guys
