There are a lot of “ifs” and “cans” in your statement. It’s not a strong enough argument against giving people more time. What if we go to war tomorrow? What if you get drafted? You can speculate all you want but that doesn’t change facts right on front of you that people ignore because of their “feelings” about what “might” happen.
At the same time have to have a job worth coming to. My number is $50k a year. Anything less than that is not worth coming to. Everyone has their own number. If we give concessions we’ll be below that. The only reason we’re above that was a bonus. I wouldn’t have gone to a regional that didn’t have a bonus.

If I’m downgraded I will still take a cut if it could help the 500+ men and women below me. I’ll bid reserve long call and go deliver Uber eats if I have to to supplement the income. I’m willing to make sacrifices to help those younger then me survive this. You aren’t.
Meanwhile some of you guys will be picking up open time with people on furlough, if you want to talk about scummy behavior. heck we have guys picking up open time right now.

I recognize that the commuting reserves don’t get assigned the trips and may have to buy extra hotels but THAT doesn’t encourage keeping staff.
Now once we furlough active pilots nobody should pick up open time - EXCEPT from the trade board. People should not drop they should post the drop in trade board. The more we can cost the company in payroll the faster furloughed pilots return.
The company has been able to make a profit while still paying 300 pct in the past. They can afford to keep employees. Being adequately staffed can save the co money and lead to better QOL for all.

Fighting to make sure the bottom guy on the totem pole gets the money they need during the biggest economic collapse since the Great Depression makes me a fly for free guy? Are you serious? Wow. Your greed knows no bounds. Kicking dirt in the junior pilots face, classy. I fight for the little guy on the bottom, not the fat cat on top.
Anybody have any orange stickers handy? Looks like the moral compass on most of these guys is inop.

Oh, the earnings call! If they would have followed WARN like the Union wanted they would have been asked about it on the earnings call. They can’t lie to wall st, but they also couldn’t say they were going to use it negotiate with.

Haven’t been WARNd because Mesa doesn’t believe they’ll hit the amount of company wide furloughs necessary to warrant a letter. I haven’t read the exact number but let’s say 33% is the amount needed to furlough to issue WARN. Mesa may furlough 32% so no letter is needed and no 6 months in advance is needed

It was no good news NEAR TERM. We keep the 700's. Parked.
Those *****ing that the top doesn't want concessions cause they are greedy will get to contribute to their lack of furlough without burdening the top.
The Lower your seniority the higher your Min Credit reduction - at least JO says they discussed it or something similar. So if you want no furloughs or to be downgraded you accept fewer hours.
LONG term future looks brighter. (how can it not be?)
We are the low cost carrier so we can swoop in and pick up some expiring contracts in the coming years.
NO SPACE JET!
But... TURBOPROPS!
Subtle dig at pilots for not taking more VLOA.
Maybe increase the hours and there will be more takers?

And those with lower seniority, taking an even bigger reduction in hours, are obligated to pay back the bonus if they decide to leave. Honestly, I'm not a fan of living off the "lowest tier" guarantee of hours and would rather just take the furlough. That way I can move on to the next job. And despite what some people are saying on here, there ARE flying jobs out there. Unfortunately, just gonna have to move again.

Talking points of conference call
- "High probability" Dulles will become E175 base
-CRJ 700's will remain with Mesa but remained parked
-No agreements yet for more cargo 737's or pilots; but is "hopeful" and there is opportunity for more; will take time
-Doesn't know if EJet seating will be reduced
-Doesn't know when CA upgrades will begin again but believes YV fleet will grow in 2021 due to our CRJ 700's
-Are AA wholy-owns taking our flying? Not yet
-AA contract has not been extended yet but confident AA wants us to stay in family due to "our low cost structure"
-Spacejet delayed by manufacturer until "distant future"
-No plans to retire the CRJ 900
-Exploring possibilities for CRJ 200's and large turboprops for cargo
-Our flying is down 50%; business travel is down 88%
-72 Covid19 cases at Mesa; 8 currently; one fatality
-Goal is to avoid furloughs; FA's won't be furloughed ( 500 have taken VLOA); 150 pilots have taken VLOA; allegedly, ALPA has proposed some kind of multi-tiered reduction in hours plan where guys in middle get reduced guarantee and bottom seniority pilots get even less guarantee; this will "probably" negate the need for CA downgrades; any pilot who leaves still has to pay bonus back
-AA future- flying will wind down for 2021-2022 but extension is expected due to "our low cost structure"
-UA future- Good future. Kirby and JO are pals. 550 plan could happen with our 20 CRJ700's. And UA loves us because of our...."low cost structure"
-Possible agreements by end of 2021 with other carriers
-Cargo operations start in 2 weeks
- That day we had 40 cancellations due to computer failure was due to AT&T and we're changing carriers
-Remembrance for Andy Hughes, the former MEC for OUR union, who was another great friend of JO for 20 years....
