Oh, there's definitely a conflict. National is focused on protecting the integrity of "good" pilot jobs, not crappy "pay your dues" regional jobs (which is exactly how they are perceived). Were you not around for the Lee Moak letter where they said the regional industry must just suck it up and pay your dues?
The less they pay you, the more they can demand from the legacy employer.

And how much does ALPA national intervene with your local MEC?

That hasn't changed, he was elected in 2014 due to a few regionals voting in blocks. Same in 2018. I see you post everywhere, but I think you're an Envoy guy right? What have they done for you since block voting? They promptly reorganized the groups, removing a National EVP that was previously from a regional (your regional actually if I recall correctly), and the regrouping resulted in a National EVP position that had historically been going to a regional pilot, ever since going to an LCC pilot. Yes, that block voting sure did help you a lot. It lost you your own EVP.

I would agree that ALPA representing both groups is a conflict of interest, but not in the way you seem to think. The regional model is a B scale designed to lower pilot cost over a career. By giving access to national dollars and programs to regional members they are acting against the interest of the largest portion of their membership (and most rational pilots would agree the profession at large). I cannot fathom how people who advocate for concessions or claim that ALPA hurts their career as a regional pilot are anything other than management instigators, or simply lack a firm grasp on reality.

2 of 20 are parked. The rest as the 175s arrive. Which by the way still aren’t financed. Makes me think there are some restrictions on what the 1/4 Billion dollars of government money the company has access to can be used for.

Nah they just can’t get an interest rate that they like. From what he said the rates are 5-6 times higher then what they were pre-Covid. Can they get the financing right now if they really needed to? Yes. Do they want to with current rates? No.

My guess is capital expenditure is restricted for the CARES loan money.
