If you are a newish FO (less than 2 years) the only way this vote helps us is a NO. The bonus payback is a big deal. Depending on hire date, this was anywhere from 20-30k, but regardless a furlough is a free and clear pass. All of you more senior guys that think you are helping the little guy out with all the "saving your job" BS need to get real. Please furlough if there is no flying. And not just because of the bonus - the alternative is equivalent to a prison of ready reserve, no flying and wasting time and money to be in position on reserve. I know the junior captains are going to vote YES, completely understandable. The entire reason to be here is for hours and that's not happening. Taking a reduced min is a slap in the face. Let us go do something else until the flying comes back.

Theres no place else to go for 121 time. Why is getting out of the bonus such a motivator? There’s a second one coming your way with no flying happening. Furloughed? That part is void too. No furlough, At 2 years you get another bonus! Mesa thought they would never pay it because you would have 1000 121 by then. Now they’ll have to pay if you stick around and support the MOU. Vote YES and make them pay.

Isn’t that the way things normally go here on APC???

Man but there is! Cargo. Getting out of the bonus = options. I am all in on Mesa assuming there is flying, but I want options otherwise if there isn't. Per my bonus contract, the 2nd bonus doesn't happen for 4 years - "Should the Pilot not upgrade captain due solely to company seniority before starting a fourth 4th year of service at Mesa". Its 20k.

Could not agree more. I'm here for exactly one thing - to build time. We need to furlough so those of us at the bottom of the totem pole can make some progress in our careers & lives. As it is, my hours have plateaued, or Mesa'ed, if you will, and I need to move on and do something productive with my time.

There are 1000 apps for every 1 cargo job available. Yes a number I pulled out of ...but you get the point. There are plenty of candidates for any job you will find..there are already over 30 million people on unemployment.

Vote yes. If the loss of 8 hours a month is too much..file unemployment for the difference..keep almost half of our colleagues employed through the holidays. If it’s so horrible..vote no next time..or make sure the reps do. It’s 90 days.

Amen. Some of these people don’t think. Prop: wants out of a bonus. Verbiage he doesn’t trust is going to protect him from Mesa chasing after 490 other bonuses that could = upwards of $10,000,000. Pay a lawyer $100,000 to chase those cases is a win win. Mj: enjoy your 13 days off again and not having enough days off to pick up open time with your 80 hour line. A yes vote would keep your 106 credit hours. It would also keep 125 downgrades from losing 50% of their current min time pay. No one seems to think.

I don't even care about the loss of 8 hours. I spend more to be in position to be on reserve than what 8 hours would pay. I haven't met min credit on reserve ever. What about the commuting to sit and not fly and pay for a hotel in base? You will spend more than 8 hours to do that. I try to drop reserve days to make up the difference. This month the reserve buffer was increased so I am not allowed to do that. What gives? I would gladly drop 50% of my month with less pay to not do this. This past summer we could drop whatever with the reserve buffer at 5 pilots with 16-20 available. Not the case anymore. It looks like for October it is the same story with less flying.

That sucks..no doubt. Take VLOA. If you need to make up the money..get another job..(not flying obviously) they are apparently readily available..keep the health and travel benefits in the meantime...
