Mesa issues warn notice to pilots

So they can’t do anything with those extra days they are not using? They can’t do anything with those extra hours they are not working? How is it that every other regional that is furloughing has the ability to cram more hours into the people left? Let me guess magic! Of course not, there is no doubt the flying is less efficient but they can still use people for 3-4 more days per month. That’s at least 12-15 hours, per person. They can extend the duty days from 8 hours to 13 hours and add one more turn or let you sit in base for 4 hours till the last flight to an outstation vs the noon one. There is a lot they can do, they are choosing not to because they have the personnel right to to keep the schedules bearable.

The company will not go after you, it’s a losing argument. The company says if you have 12 months left on contract and they furlough you for 6 months, then bring you back you’ll owe 6 months left. I would like to see them try to win that in court. That’s their interpretation of the contract. The contract says if furlough, null in void.

You honestly think 1 year of seniority in a regional is gold? Please, when the flood gates open again, the bonuses and opportunities will come back. Most of us will go get better paying jobs until the path to mainline reopens. Why sit around for 2-3 more years as a reserve FO to “hold” a seniority number, when you can go make 60k a year doing something else and come back to full time employment and actually fly. You just don’t want to creep back into the right seat so you are trying your best to get the junior FO’s to stay so you hold CA. Please

How many credits are you projecting this month at Mesa? Didn’t see you speak up about my 90+ hr guys during COVID comment. Are you one of them? Enjoying that gravy train while all of us with less seniority suffer? I can see why you want the FO’s to stay under you, makes sense that you would put out this propaganda. Right to a line they said, mainline in 3 years they said. Now it’s, guys stay so I can hold a line and not face downgrade. You dump on the FO’s and allow them to get treated unfairly, you suffer the consequences. I’m out of here soon enough once the furlough hits. FEDEX here I come. When the company has enough business to support me flying 76hrs a month, I’ll come back to the below minimum wage pay. Until then, boxes for me.
Anyone else notice CREWPAY hasn’t been updated this month? Probably the company up to something where they screw us out of money before furlough.

I love having a quality of life more than I love aviation. A shinny jet isn’t going to pay for my healthcare or retirement.

Yes they could add another 18 hour 4 day. 55 + 18 = 73 Then say add another 2 day - sure but in reality there are not enough 2 days to go around, and it will impinge on min days off and the senior guys actually know how to bid. You could get a FEW 76 hour lines but not enough to matter and the rest would be on reserve. It's just not efficient and cannot be made so.

Also, don’t forget to bid for vacation next year.
