I wasn’t able to listen but in addition to furlough they would need to have a displacement bid. It’s already too late for Oct 1 furloughs. 2 weeks notice required. It would also tip their hand.

IMPORTANT: in the initial 490 announcement they said that was by January. Not all at once.

That would be weird..so people get displaced for a month..then again with next wave..then maybe again and then furloughed...??

I missed the call too. Was 250 a number mentioned or just a guess?

They can run it as many times as necessary but they can’t downgrade without running it.

Listen to the person that listened to the call.

200 to 250. In my opinion, it won't be that high.

Still scare tactics.

That's exactly what was written in the Union email.
"Company is currently offering a voluntary leave with 20 hours of pay. Roughly 120 pilots for October ...., which is not enough to offset the extra pilots that the Company is currently carrying."

As I mentioned earlier, READ between the lines, guys.

They also wrote UP to 490 pilot furloughs. Now they reduced it to UP TO 200 - 250 pilots?

Before they take drastic changes, Vol LOA will be offered. Mesa doesn't want to Furlough, it cost them too much vs. offering other options.

20 hours LOA does cost them $750ish per FO?

You keep your Health care plan, and other benefits. As far as my own research, you still can collect reduced hours unemployment, or get a part or full time job while on LOA.

1 cross training event CRJ to Ejet will cost them approx. 30 to 50 grand, depending on seat/seniority.

Embraer Lineage crew training cost $50000. My guess would be 2 pilots type ratings in that number.
Mesa probably pays less?

200-250 and they will be back within a year. If you stay within a year of furlough, it’s only AQP and 3 IOE flights and line check. Super quick to get you back online.

What happens if you are furloughed over a year? Back to the school house?

Why, according to you, does it take “weeks” for new cases to show up when the incubation period of the China Virus is 2 to 10 days?

Confirmed infections:
33000 in April 23
17600 June 8
78000 July 16
35000 August 30

Call it what you want, but to me, that's a second wave right there.

Is COVID under control in the USA? I'll let you decide with 34760 new cases as of today only.

3rd, behind India and Brazil.

Call it what you want to call it MJ but the longer the hysteria and misinformation continues, the more likely it is and the longer it will be that You and everyone else in this business feels the pain.
It doesn’t matter to me at this point- I’m already on the street because of it all.

Good Luck
