I’ll bite off on coughdrop because this is another thing that’s insane… “razor thin profit margins” and no money to spare yet somehow we feel we can find the leverage or capital to purchase and fly more aircraft. Forget that we’re parking 20 we already have.
If there were a bunch of overstaffed regionals lining up behind mesa to take over our flying, calling a bluff might not be smart. But ask yourself this. If you vote no and no one walks in the front door anymore (because they’re all going to American) and people start jumping ship even worse than they already are, what do you supposed the honchos at United will do? Throw up their hands? Tell JO they’re taking him to court for not flying the contract? The amount of money that’s at stake here is far and away beyond the piddly Ulysses Grant you’re excited about getting every hour.
There’s a lot of money on the line and make no mistake, the AAWO contracts are a game changer. Lot of big meetings in expensive board rooms happening right now. Remember that time your union inked a bad deal to slash your hours one week before the airline stimulus came out? This is Covid 2.0, don’t fall for it again. Vote no.

Every airline is currently in talks with board members and unions because of the AAWO PAY PACKAGE.
To include Talks with pilot unions even if they have signed a new contract last month.
the AAWO pay package threatens growth at any ulcc.
Jo pay up!
vote no!

As soon as the AA wholly owned rates came out, this TA Is dead.
Watching the MEC Chair try to save it on behalf of the company, is not only disconcerting, it’s baffling.

and I’m disappointed in your pitiful attitude. If you want to leave then leave. Well many of us pilots at MESA have skeletons and can’t and YOU ARE RUINING our potential for an outstanding career. You are selfish is what you are. We are ABOVE SKYWEST AND REPUBLIC on this contract and almost to what AMERICAN WHOLY OWNED are at. It’s just a few dollars more that they pay. But guess what? They don’t get 300% like we MESA pilots do. Easy math what is 48 multiplied by 3?
Seriously bro, if you have so many “skeletons” have you ever thought you’re doing your passengers a disservice by continuing to fly? Find a new career. If mesa is your life forever because you’re unemployable anywhere else, I can only feel sorry for you.

300% only benefits the one pilot that picks up the flying not the pilot group as a whole.

Pay isn’t the only thing, did they include any better pay rules like automatic premium pay over a certain threshold, min day, health insurance full deadhead pay. Hell even better hotels. All those other airlines have better work rules. What happened with the aggressive pickup they never implemented last contract.
The funny thing is the Union said the pilot group asked for a quick deal that’s why they only did pay rates. Those surveys were about 2 years ago weren’t they? Just comical. This deal could’ve probably passed a year ago. Now it’s too late. Management fault.

Is it possible to get a refund on our union dues?? Because seriously. Pitiful.

I’m extremely disappointed even reading what you all are saying. Chris fights the hard fight for us that no one wants to fight for us and he does a GOOD job doing it. If you really read between the lines we are only $12 per hour below Envoy pay. That is a very good offer for us at MESA. We are a saving grace airline for many who do have skeletons in closet but love and dream of flying NEW aircrafts. To even think of voting NO on this would be insane. Take the money now while it’s available. MESA can not honestly afford what AA can since we are our own company and are paid a fixed rate. That’s why it’s so important to understand. We operate on small profits. Take the proposal and fly the same aircrafts you have been flying for MORE money. I am glad to say that here is a small minority because I have been talking with co captains and in the crew room and many know this is a GREAT contract offering
