Dude, that’s the only reason I keep coming back here. I’ve build this image of who he is in my head. His previous posts say he was in training at envoy in early 2021, my guess is he failed there, went to Mesa, and can’t leave for whatever reason. Maybe he’s 64 1/2 years old and needs every last dime he can get before retirement. I just get my popcorn ready and enjoy the show he puts on.

you’re saying we should be happy with proposed pay rates that are on par with Skywest, republic and old psa, envoy &piedmont. Those pay rates were great for 2018/19. It’s 2022 and inflation is real.
300% only benefits the one pilot that picks up the flying not the pilot group as a whole.

It's unfair to compare Mesa to the wholly owned airlines. Those are BASICALLY mainline now. This contract is the first step toward just assimilating them.
That said, if that doesn't happen, then you need to compare to:
Skywest and Republic primarily - multiple carrier airlines.
GoJet, Commutair and Horizon next.
Given that comparison and Mesa Culture this isn't that bad a deal.
Mesa will survive. There's more going on here than just UA and AA.

Pay isn’t the only thing, did they include any better pay rules like automatic premium pay over a certain threshold, min day, health insurance full deadhead pay. Hell even better hotels. All those other airlines have better work rules. What happened with the aggressive pickup they never implemented last contract.
The funny thing is the Union said the pilot group asked for a quick deal that’s why they only did pay rates. Those surveys were about 2 years ago weren’t they? Just comical. This deal could’ve probably passed a year ago. Now it’s too late. Management fault.

We have to compare apples to apples and negotiations are slow. The survey is actually only about 18 months old and with only 40% turnover it's at least 60% correct. So... comparing to the comparable regionals the deal isn't FANTASTIC but it's not bad and by Mesa standards its pretty phenomenal.
Take the money.
