depends… currently re-arranging prerequisites for captain eligibility, so take this with a grain of salt. Typically you need a few recommendations from current captains, then you can be “left seat authorized” if you meet TT and time in type requirements you can upgrade. Aside from having a firm grasp on general captain responsibilities you need to know the company procedures and paperwork responsibilities fairly well. I’ve seen anywhere from direct entry(with time in type and similar 135 experience) to 6-18 months. Likely one of the quicker upgrades you’ll find. B727 correct me if I’m wrong.
The quickest upgrade I have seen off the street with no previous time in type was 3.5 months, for one of our ACP’s, eclipsing the now-Excel LCA who referred him to his chagrin because his upgrade took 4 months. 😂.. People who’ve come here with a type and time in type have upgraded after 2 rotations of getting the “paperwork” (now mostly digital) and Company procedures.
2 Captain recommendations is correct.. 52 new jets arriving between now and 2025. Exciting times.

I've got a indoc date of 4-17. Looking forward to becoming part of the FE family. Hope to meet some of you soon. Your posts and questions have been VERY helpful in this decision process for me.
This is my first post to the site, so a real new to posting.
