All of TMC's ads say their mins are 1000tt and no mention of multi time so is it possible to get on at 1200 hours and only 10 hours of multi from initial training? Considering this as a way to get experience for a year to get jet time and be more appealing to operators like DPJ or xojet in the future. Currently 135 in Alaska 15on/15off and really love that schedule or an 8/6. My cfi flies for a large corporate operation and is next in line for chief pilot and said if I can get some good experience and have a few types. He would love to hire me down the road. His only comment was their policy is they won't hire guys who have ever flown airlines and to keep that in mind. Something about better customer service from guys with previous fractional type experience. So would be considering TMC as a way to get in to this type of flying. Any positive input would be appreciated! With my times this seems to be the only home based type outfit I could get on at. If there are other operators I'm all ears.

Do you really want to work for a place that wont hire airline guys because they think they dont know customer service?? sounds rather ignorant. That being said I was in your shoes a year ago met their low time mins with about 50 hrs of multi piston, sent them a resume a week and called multiple times with nothing so much as a "thanks but not thanks" email....

That was a year ago, might as well have been a different lifetime in terms of pilot availability at the 135 level. I would send that stuff in.

Hey Tippy, that sounds just like GAMA. You send them a resume, etc and they never respond. I have found aviation to have the poorest communication of any industry except NetJets. They are professionals start to finish.

Their "Preferred Minimums" include 1000 multi-engine.

Crossover from TMC to XOJet is not currently possible.

On its face, that's a load of ignorant b.s. With that said, I have worked with plenty of guys that can't wait to get back into 121 so they don't have to deal with pax anymore. A few bad apples does not a bushel make. A good interview should quickly identify those that would not fit the company culture.

That is such a load of crap!! I've done both. It's all about the person you hire.
