It doesn’t tell you that at all. It could be the exact opposite. It could be because they’re concerned, especially during times of furlough, that you may leave after the airline jobs open back up. It could mean a number of things. It’s just an informational question. The question itself gives you no indication of why they’re asking.
121 furloughs are going to be deep and recalls won’t happens for at least 18mo. If you think a 135 pax operator is going to hire a piston pilot with 135IFR mins over an ATP turbine pilot just because they are afraid the pilot may leave in a year your need to get on oxygen. Boutique isn’t a career operator they know they are a stepping stone employer. They even rolled their CA pay back to $35K/year. That’s not something a company does to retain pilots long term.
6mo go aviation was a min requirement job market, it’s not any longer and won’t be again for a few years.
Sure the small mom and pop charter 135’s won’t touch the airline guys, for fear they will leave. But the bigger operators, want the more experienced pilots.

In a nutshell -CEO slashed minimum guarantee to $35K/year.
He did so understanding the stipulations of the CARES act.
Wisely and beneficially for him, he did this prior to applying for and accepting CARES act money, thus only being required to pay pilots the lesser rate despite receiving over 8 million dollars in federal aid.
Im not sure if this is still the case, someone still with the company may have more information.

What it was is an insult to the entire pilot group, Boutique survives nearly entirely off of government funded EAS routes and only very briefly lost the extra passenger revenue. Corona was merely an excuse to cut pay and other benefits. They also took away Paid Time off accrual, and longevity bonuses. They better be prepared for the mass exodus that they created.
