Thanks FlexNinja on the parking answer...
A question about bonuses for anyone that knows... since I recognize each company treats these differently.
PSA has a $16.5k signing bonus (I don't have a CRJ type rating), then a $20k one-year retention bonus.
Do each carry a one year commitment? As an easy example, if I fly for PSA for 18 months, would I receive the full $16.5k after completion of the first year, then get to keep half of the $20k for flying half of the second year? Thanks!

As long as you are working, you keep getting the bonus.
Upgrade times are sitting around 18-20 months right now, and some people are bypassing on upgrade because with the retention bonus, FOs make almost as much as captains.

[QUOTE=PSA Recruiter;2393769]The retention bonus is $20k over 2 years. Pretty much, you get an extra $2500 for every quarter that you are an FO for up to 2 years.
Thanks, but then I'm confused about the $16.5k sign-on bonus. The two bonuses are listed separately on the website as a $16.5k sign-on bonus (up to $21.5 with a CRJ type rating) and a $20k one year retention bonus?
And, by the way, I would completely excited with the extra $2500 per quarter... just trying to clarify if the two are somehow combined or if they are indeed separate. I don't suppose you could share the verbiage from the contract for clarity?

They are separate. The signing bonus comes with the "pay it back if you leave before XXX". The retention bonus is just that: for retention. Every quarter you receive a check for 2500. It does not need to be payed back if you leave(or upgrade) and is not tied to the signing bonus in any way.

Correct. They are separate bonuses and not tied together.
The sign on has a 24 month commitment, and it is prorated after 12 months.
The retention bonus is just a payment of $2500 for each quarter that you are on property starting after 1 year.

[QUOTE=VrefPlus5;2394331]Yes. Uncle Sam will tax it. The overall amount just depends on what tax bracket you end up in. I "think" that the rate that payroll taxes them on is 25% (someone correct me if I am wrong), but then your total tax at the end of the year is based on how much you make in the year, just like any other income.
You do not pay more in taxes on bonuses than you do on any other salary at the end of the year.

Usually at any company the bonuses are taxed at 25% and of course it all gets taxed adjusted when you file.

I will be at OBAP on Wednesday afternoon through Friday and will be conducting interviews on site.
Feel free to PM me and we can set up a time to interview.
We will interview 6 months before you are ready. If you want to interview at OBAP or Oshkosh, or most any other job fair, just shoot me a message. I am on the interview team, and some of our members attend most of the larger events. We are a small team (5-6 pilots and 3-4 HR people), and don't get to every single event, but we get to most of them.
Also, if there are a bunch of people in one city that want to interview, we can come to you. We have done this before.
Lastly, if you are a deployed military pilot and want to interview when you are out of the country, we can conduct Skype interviews in these cases. I have conducted a few Skype interviews lately for pilots serving overseas and they will have class dates waiting for them when they transition back to the US.
