If you're looking for a place that respects it's pilot you should try harder. Plus there's several airlines that have bases in DC. Maybe you should start there if you're worried about commuting

P.S. Where's this quality of life you speak of? Taking concessions isn't improvement in QOL, you're adding to the problem by taking a job with an employer who had the audacity to seek concessions while making profit.
On top of that being a line holder doesn't equate to the best QOL, I could hold a line but would touch weekends, I live on base and bid reserve and normally work the schedule I want, sometimes things don't work but the same can be said for a line holder.

Does it make you feel better about yourself to attack a new hire? That came into a thread to ask a simple question. You're such a badass man. Answer the guys question or leave it alone. You probably don't even work at PSA.

Secondly for people who are from the south south, DC is considered North and a bit to the east meaning Northeast. If there is a future, and quality of life with a little pay cut that comes with it, I would rather take that then jump on a sinking ship that gives no respect to its pilots.
After reading this post, it's obvious you came to the right place. You'll fit in perfect at PSA.

Not to mention a place that is respected by other airline pilots. PSA is the new low. He could have done much better.

Not just "profit", but all time record profits...

These are all basically what I would've said. It doesn't matter if you were a part of the TA, the fact that you're willing to go there now knowing full well that they are the new low (acting as a cancer in the regional industry, cutting all the others at the knees) puts you in the same boat as yes voters. Maybe not 100% free but, If you were in new hire class and they came in and said that an even newer contract just passed and you had to take 50% pay cuts, i would bet money that you and a lot of the new hires they are getting would say "yeah that's fine" and stay in class. I don't think you or other PSA guys will be getting much respect in this industry from your peers because you are part of the problem (undercutting and pitting regionals against each other which devalues OUR profession as a whole and making pilots a less valuable commodity).

Also, when you say "I would rather take that then jump on a sinking ship that gives no respect to its pilots." you're implying that you think PSA is different and respects its pilots. Does an airline that respects its pilots ask them to take concessions when they are making record profits? I don't think so. They're the new low because they don't respect their pilots. welcome to the airlines.

Just for fun, I don't care where you're from that's just ignorant. The Mason Dixon line runs basically through the Maryland/DC area, making it nowhere near the northeast. The northeast is the NY,MA,NH,VT,CT area. If you live up there, go to air wisconsin.

Sorry Spaaks you're obviously not from the "south" if you consider DC/VA "the south," line or not. If you can hop in Amtrak and make a NYC day trip, you're in the NE

Guess you totally missed the part where he said he wasn't part of the TA. The only "concession" he is taking will be first year regional pay.. something you did twice. Pretty sure the concessionary pay at PSA is much higher than pre-JCBA Colgan too...

i didn't say it was 'the south', I said it's almost right on the mason dixon line. so you could make an argument either way. I said it was far from being the "northeast", which is true. Pennsylvania isn't even considered the 'northeast' and that is north of MD/DC. The important part thing is everything else I said about pitting regionals against each other
