Wow. The ultimate decision whether or not to deplane rests with the PIC. Being "off the clock" has nothing to do with the passengers safety. I sure hope you're not a captain yet, and get a few more years in the industry before being tasked with the responsibly that goes along with it. The quality of the typical PSA pilot never ceases to amaze me. Very sad.

Oh put a sock in it. It was a freak accident. I supposed Sully should've executed a barrel roll around them geese especially since he was on the clock right? And I'll take seafeye over you any day, in any airline, or on any yacht.

I bet you would. People of the same character tend to want to stick together.

I think you guys are missing my point. Of course i care about my passengers, but this brings up a really important issue. We are hourly employees that only get paid for push back to pull in. Management is always trying to screw us out of money. How is it possible that we can spend 80 hours a week away from our homes and only get paid for a 20 hour trip? And don't tell me its because we get a large hourly rate to compensate. (Regionals have f/o's making 24k/year).
My point was that if management holds us responsible for every minute we are on the aircraft then we should get paid for it. If you think that you don't deserve to get paid at work then that is great. If we aren't getting paid then we shouldn't be at work.

Yeah I agree with you!
We need to value ourselves and our professional...but first let us take concessions...

Haha, I was thinking the same thing the entire time I was reading that.

Don't worry though, they seem to have an infinite number of excuses for taking those concessions that they tell each other about in their circle-jerk parties. Fact of the matter is the only people who like PSA pilots are PSA pilots.

Sure did. Thank you for that PSA, the pilot group that decided to ignore the fundamental laws of supply and demand thereby lowering the bar for everyone. Great job guys.
