Tell ya what, just walk into any given Eagle plane there and see what happens.

Also, in the last 12 months, 87% of the people that finished Systems made it to the line. A significant number of those that did not make it quit on their own. Some got jobs with the LLC's or majors, while others had personal reasons that interfered with training.

A major part of the problem with the failures was the time off between class and sims. Some people had to wait more than a month, and were not ready when they got back to sims. They had not studied during the break, and spend the first 3 sim sessions re-learning their flows/callouts. To combat this problem, PSA now has 5 sims to use, and the time between class and sims is down to no more than 2 weeks.

If you fail your sim ride, or are not ready for it, you automatically get 2 more sessions as part of the program. After that, you can get one more if your sim instructor thinks that you have a good attitude and are improving. If that doesn't work, you are asked to leave for up to 6 months and take a jet transition course or to complete some other program that will help you. If you are a screw up, are not trying, or are not improving, you will likely fail.

Most of the fails lately were guys that had a hard time with the English language, had never flown a jet and were just not ready for it, and those that simply did not prepare. If you don't study, you will fail. You get 10 sessions in the IPTs before sims. If you don't know your flows/callouts well before sims, you aren't trying very hard.
.
Let me get this straight, you are boasting about the fact that almost 1/3rd of the new hires dont complete training? And some of them have problems with the English language? And you are adding more and more sim sessions to try and lower the bar for who can get through? Wow. If(when) blood spills, it will be on your hands. You people are a sad lot.

Care to share pass rates for the last 6 months? 3 months? I bet they are dropping and the FAA is raising an eyebrow. I heard one month you had an almost 40% failure rate.

I had no trouble sitting up front on Envoy going to DFW last week and all the times before. Keep telling lies.

Did you just really say 19% failure rate is almost 1/3? You're worried about blood spilling while complaining about the high washout rate? Pick a side man...

I'm glad the wash out rate is high. I know for a fact that PSA training department is quite solid. Flew with a bunch of ex comair, DHL, fractional pilots and they've all said PSA training is equally hard as their previous hardest initial experiences or is the hardest so far but fair. And all the brand new 121 FOs I've been flying with are sharper than I was when I went through so I think they'll be alright.

You still counting your imaginary PSA Jumpseat denial numbers? Must be near thousands by now.

Doh!! I really cannot do percentages! (More of an oversight) Okay 20% then. Still pretty high. Your latest numbers are above 1/3rd though.

Just because you have a high washout rate does not mean you are "being safe" about the knuckleheads you are hiring. Ask the FAA what they think about lowering the bar. Your complacency in hiring and increasing desperation will continue to make things worse.

Most people have realized that, even with the current thievery of Eagles 47 CRJs, you have still hired all the Captains you need to staff for growth. Now all you need is the suckers to buy into the notion they will upgrade just as fast. Unfortunately, there are plenty of idiots out there that are just as bad at math as I just was above.

The higher recent failure rate is a proof that the training department won't pass someone just to meet the quota. I don't think that's lowering the bar but rather being consistent with their past standards. While I do agree the quick upgrades are gone. However compared to the past, anything less than 5 year upgrade is not bad at all. Many of us sat on the right seat beyond that and still do across the industry.

Maybe AA will pull what Delta just did to AWAC and stop the transfer of Envoy's CRJs. Sorry to say this to our new FOs but I rather see them 700s stay at Envoy and stop this bickering madness. Let's the 5-6 year FOs at Envoy upgrade and let the PSA new hires sit on the right seat for 3-4 years and learn from various captains before upgrading.

Well you disarmed me. That is a very admirable thing to say.

I don't think it matters to people if we have already the captains that we need. This place is still great in terms of growth and movement. Hence why classes are already filling through March at +-35 every two weeks.
