The higher recent failure rate is a proof that the training department won't pass someone just to meet the quota. I don't think that's lowering the bar but rather being consistent with their past standards. While I do agree the quick upgrades are gone. However compared to the past, anything less than 5 year upgrade is not bad at all. Many of us sat on the right seat beyond that and still do across the industry.
Maybe AA will pull what Delta just did to AWAC and stop the transfer of Envoy's CRJs. Sorry to say this to our new FOs but I rather see them 700s stay at Envoy and stop this bickering madness. Let's the 5-6 year FOs at Envoy upgrade and let the PSA new hires sit on the right seat for 3-4 years and learn from various captains before upgrading.

This is like a school playground the last few pages. Pretty funny actually. Is it possible that AAG and Envoy can still forge a deal? Or are they done talking? Hmm, perhaps I'm asking the wrong thread.

A deal to do what? Are there unassigned airplanes with delivery dates in 2015 still?

I suspect those are going to go regardless. Any deal they could work out would probably be for new airplanes, although I'm not sure its possible to see delivery dates in 2015. It's best that American move 50 seat airplanes to carriers with lower labor cost structures.

Did you just really say 19% failure rate is almost 1/3? You're worried about blood spilling while complaining about the high washout rate? Pick a side man...
I'm glad the wash out rate is high. I know for a fact that PSA training department is quite solid. Flew with a bunch of ex comair, DHL, fractional pilots and they've all said PSA training is equally hard as their previous hardest initial experiences or is the hardest so far but fair. And all the brand new 121 FOs I've been flying with are sharper than I was when I went through so I think they'll be alright.
You still counting your imaginary PSA Jumpseat denial numbers? Must be near thousands by now.

Bullcrap. It's about spite. If cost was an issue I'm willing to bet they wouldn't be going to EV.

I'm not sure we are on the same page. I'm saying with Envoy's higher labor costs compared to the rest of the contractors coupled with the high costs of flying 50 seat jet aircraft, its best the 50 seat airplanes go to PSA. Envoy should fly more 700s and 900s which are more economical and have greater ability to generate revenue for the same (relatively) labor costs they have today.

Today, yes a Saturday, the company and the MEC are negotiating.
