It took almost 3 hours for a **COMPUTER**!!! to tell me that another pilot had already picked up the trip that I was trying to trade into. But Sabre says everything's running just fine!
Do they know what "stale data" is?
Don't come to PSA for the quick upgrade. It's gone.
Don't come to PSA because you can get your choice of bases right out of training. You won't.
Don't come to PSA for the "flow" to American. It'll be 20 years.
Don't come to PSA for "quality of life", based on our Schedule Adjustment Period ("S.A.P."). It doesn't work.

I honestly don't even know why I am still trying to SAP. I SAP'ed to get Memorial Day Weekend off, am crediting 78 hours with 16 days off.
You would think that would be good enough for a regional airline, but I have 2 overnights on one of my trips that I hate, and trying to switch that trip for something with the same days/credit, but better overnights. Something on the beach, maybe.
First world problems.

Pure BS from the recruiters. You "might" get CLT but you'll be sitting reserve for, what is now considered, a while. If you live close to or in CLT, PSA might be worth it when you eventually get CLT. We are shrinking. Our pay is close to the lowest. Schedule flexibility is a joke. Flow is useless for anyone not in the top 200-300 seniority wise. We've upgraded 4 pilots this year. There's many other things well within the companies power to fix but they won't.

You will not get CLT out of training.
You will be sitting reserve at every base for 6 months min. so if you live in CLT you will be commuting to DAY, paying for hotels and not flying---120 hours in 7 months and I am slightly above my peers.
The trend is moving away from positive--things are getting worse.
Good luck but right now there are far better options then PSA.

right now the bottom four in CLT are sept/nov 2015.

PSA is understaffed right? They can't hire enough pilots, correct?
If they are so understaffed, how is it possible that a reserve is only flying 120 hrs in 7 months. I would think that they would be using reserves all the time

You will not get a CLT base right out of training. Other people on here will be able to give you a prediction of the time to hold CLT. You will be most likely commuting to Dayton for awhile (6 mo is my guess). I recently flew with a FO that has been here approximately 13 months and is just now getting a build up line in DAY. If you live in CLT and will not be commuting to reserve then PSA may be an ok choice. If you will be commuting to reserve regardless there are companies with much better contracts and reserve rules. Commuting hotels commuting during your reserve period etc...
The Schedule adjustment period or SAP is a great recruiting tool, but remember you are only allowed to SAP once you are a round 1 line holder. Which as I said is more than 13 months in DAY. I don't know about CLT. (guessing 2 years)
On reserve you can only move your reserve days if there is an abundance of reserves( almost never happens for FOs) you can not drop any reserve days so you will get the minimum 11 days off.
Reserve days do not qualify for Minimum day pay, so if you fly for 1 hour, you only credit 1 hour. You will still make 75hr guarantee, but you will never break guarantee unless you pick up open time, which is difficult with only 11 days off.
As was stated before there have only been 4 upgrades announced this year. PSA is somewhat over staffed on captains and the flow is being reduced to just 2 a month for June and July. We are still receiving a few more CRJ-900s, but have deferred delivery of 3 700s until next year so I am predicting maybe 20 more upgrades this year and we have a lot of 1+ year FOs that are reaching the 1000 hour mark.
The rapid growth at PSA has stopped, largely due to management interference. I would estimate at least 2 years to hold a round 1 line in CLT (maybe 6 months to reserve) and at least 3 years to upgrade. Flow is probably closer to 10 years for someone hired today.
If you live in CLT it probably won't be that bad, but if you are commuting there are much better airlines, with much better pay and contracts.
if you come to PSA based on what the recruiters are selling you will just be setting yourself up for disappointment.
