Nope. Last upgrade went to April 2014 hire. With 85 upgrades every couple months I don't know how it wouldn't happen.

So what's going on over there that would necessitate DEC's? Are there senior FO's bypassing?

Between some of our CRJ200's coming out of the desert and growth in NY, combined with the fact that some senior FO's are bypassing due to CJO's with Delta/ not wanting to commute to NY the captain slots are going very junior.

PSA is sort of heading down the path Endeavor was on in late 2014. Things got so out of hand there with FO's bailing coupled with the complete inability to attract new hires that Delta's hand was forced to make a major move to turn the tide, hence the 20k bonus + FO SSP. Unless someone at AAG starts taking steps now (and it still may be too late at that) then they're going to get to that same crisis point with the wholly owned regionals.

Nothing against those pilots, but the DEC decision was the main cause for the downfall in staffing imo. Turns out we never really needed them, and like said before it put a stop to FO hiring that won't pick up again like it was. They should have done the deferments sooner or not been so aggressive on the immediate start of transfers. A couple months would have given plenty of time for FOs to upgrade and made no need for DECs.

I live 40 minutes from two major airports that serve direct flights to DTW. Plus a couple of freight flights go there in the middle of the night. Otherwise, I would probably choose PSA but I don't think getting to DTW will be too difficult.

Doesn't matter how "easy" the commute is. It sucks. End of story. Blows.

My commute couldn't be much easier. 10+ flights/day all mainline acft with 2 jump seats 1:30 flight time. I have priority over everyone unless they are a mainline AA pilot.(of which there are no commuters that I know of) It still absolutely sucks the life out of me.

If you live in a PSA base, work at PSA. That is the one and only way I would recommend someone work here.

There's no arguing that commuting sucks. However an extra $23,000 plus the ability to commute during your reserve period makes it suck a lot less.

Even living in base is becoming less of a reason to come to PSA. Any quality of life you gain from not commuting will quickly be taken away by the lack of income, terrible contract, and abuse by crew scheduling.

Totally agree with this. Honestly I did on demand freight for awhile. 5 days a month I could turn my phone off. Other than that, it was night or day get a call and leave in 10 minutes.

Its just my opinion but I think with an easy commute, Endeavor is just a better option given the pay right now. Worst case scenario I drive a few hours to base. Maybe my opinion will change in a year, who knows. Those are just my two cents.

I thought the same thing with respect to DAY/CVG and DTW while at Comair. When I was displaced out of CVG, I thought it would be reasonable out of DAY to DTW and CVG in a pinch.

The one time I was in a pinch and used CVG, I couldn't get a hotel in DTW (Michigan home football game) and didn't go. Fortunately, I got out of DAY early the following morning.

There were times I couldn't get out of DAY on a flight because of the airplane type (EMB-145) or weather in DTW. I drove both times.

If you have mainline service to DTW from both cities, you should be all right. If it's not mainline service, be careful.
