There was really no way the upgrades couldn't pick back up once the summer season ended. They cut way back to maintain FO staffing over the summer but with a steady stream of CA's leaving an uptick in upgrades was inevitable.

They have to keep hiring FOs for the upgrades to continue.

It's also a bid for a 1 Nov effective date. Why so far out?

That's about right.

The upgrade class will not start until the 3rd week of September.

The previous Capt announcement dated Aug 4 has an effective date of Nov 1. That's further out than the latest announcement. Maybe they are combining classes, but that should be around the date when they are sim complete as it says.

Ok. I thought the early Aug bid had a 1 Sep effective date. I don't have the email anymore. I'll get back in my corner. I'm outta here 8 Sept anyway.

The "effective" date only applies to captains that want to transfer to a new base. This bid is for CVG. If any current CA's want to transfer to CVG for some reason, they can. Their transfer will be effective as of Nov 1st.

Note that it says Nov 1st or upon completion of sim training.

It's a smaller jet put the company manages as many jets as PSA operates. It pays almost 3rd year E-190 AA FO pay with potentially 6 figures in a year. There's TPIC multiengine jet and the chance to move to bigger paying jets. Gotta feed my family.
