Yeah, definitely surprised me. Everyone in my class can hold at least round 2 in CVG, DAY, and CLT. Some of us can hold round 1 in DAY.
No frame of reference for TYS.
....at least this month😉

Applications seem to be WAY up. I am hearing that we are getting quite a few lateral transfers from other airlines.

So far, it isn't quite like all of the lateral transfers that we were getting in 2014, but it is growing.

If PSA is able to get the additional 900's, actually accepts the additional 700's, and opens another good and commutable base, then it might actually hit 2014 levels again.

In other news, Delta seems to be picking up quite a few pilots lately. I know of 2 of my friends that were just offered class dates and will be leaving this year. I would be surprised if attrition doesn't hit 20+ a month by the end of the year.

If the person is moving to a better situation, is it still considered "lateral"?

If you are going to PSA, and are getting more money, being entered into the flow, having better career stability, being able to upgrade sooner, getting better schedule flexibility with the SAP, etc... is it really considered "lateral"?

A move from one regional to another is always going to be considered lateral. Even with some QOL or minute pay increases, they're not to the magnitude at which going to a major would bring. It's still lateral anyway you slice it. It's anyone's guess if you ma

Default From the PSA's APC Profile (Propagada) Page..

"Newly hired pilots are currently projected to upgrade to Captain in 25 months and flow through to American in less than five years."

************************************************

For today's new hire to upgrade in 25 months, he/she would have to have an average of 24+ pilots ahead of them either upgrade, flow, or leave the company,..... every month. Additionally, they'll need to have 600 pilots follow them into PSA and in order to backfill the F/O seats that they are leaving behind.

As for the flow in "less than five years", today's new hire would have to have 20+ pilots per month ahead of them, (on average) either flow, move-on, or decline the flow.

Possible? Yes.

Are these "best case" numbers? I think so.

Will today's new hire actually upgrade in 25 months and flow in LESS THAN 5 years? I doubt it.

Buyer beware.

Eh... I think it is more possible now than if you would of asked me the same question a few months ago. We have been inundated with enough applications to completely fill classes for the next few months. And more importantly, AAG has now shown that they are going to put their money where their mouth is and pay what it takes to staff us and make us competitive. Anyone hired on in the next few months will definitely experience better progression than those hired mid-late 2015/early 2016. We WILL be losing 20+ CAs /month to the flow and outside attrition. That I think is a reality. And if the company continues to hire and make our compensation AND retention package competitive, I see no reason we won't be a 150+ aircraft airline in the next couple years. Flow in 5? I think that's questionable and would absolutely be a "best case scenario". I think flowing in 8-10 years for a new hire is a real possibility though. And I think upgrade will hover around 2.5 - 3 years for quite some time.

Stop being such a PSA cheerleader..painting rainbows and unicorns. Everyone knows you and chrisreedrules are the same person. You just want to pad your seniority...

Pay will only go up, and I think we're on the cusp of a large exodus from both Mesa and AWAC. Look at what AWACS ALPA just sent to them. The wheels are starting to fall off in several places, and AAG is going to want the WOs to pick up the slack. I'm not cheering for their demise by any means, and I'm not 100% sure who would do that flying, but AAG has a plan and right now it seems like they want to transfer pilots from the non WOs to PSA, EVY, and PDT.
