This is a great point! Let's do some math!

For the sake of simplicity (and fairness), I'll shoot right in the middle and assume 1350 pilots at PSA and 6 years for today's new hire to flow. 1350 pilots divided by 72 months equals 18.75 pilots per month either flowing, moving-on to another job, or refusing to flow.

If the flow stays at 5/month, on average, 14 pilots ABOVE YOU, will have to move-on to other jobs, (or refuse to flow) EVERY MONTH in order for today's new hire to flow on to American.

And given the idea that fewer pilots bail out as they get closer to the flow, the REAL number of pilots above you who would have to move-on for today's new hire to flow in 6 years is actually closer to 28 at the beginning of their tenure at PSA, slowing to zero as they get closer to their flow date.

Your mileage my vary.

Right now, I agree that current flow time looks much higher. I will say, however, that this has been based on the majors not really ramping up their hiring yet. If the majors double their hiring, we could realistically think that our attrition will double.

I think that the point is that no one thinks that LOA 5 will be our last agreement on flow. Management and the MEC have been meeting on flow and I think that everyone expects something more.

The CCP arbitration is supposedly back, and they are trying to come up with a deal now, thus why we reconstituted a negotiating committee. There is no way that the company will pay us like they did 3 years ago when the contract first came out in regards to CCP. There are all kinds of rumors about what we are negotiating for that. I have heard increased hourly pay (not much) along with better min day pay and increased flow. We will see what it really is when we hear back about it soon (hopefully).

Assuming, that is, you had an ATP, etc and reasonable hours?
I waited a couple hours....you may wait maybe a day or 2 tops. They need people.

Just starting to, maybe. But not fully. AA and United will hire more than double next year compared to what they will hire this year.

So they're negotiating the awarded money into a contract? They're going to make the pilots work for the money they were owed had the contract been followed? Tell me I'm reading that wrong.

Everything he said was speculation. There is no evidence of any of that being correct. Rumors like everything else. But who knows.
