They have been telling just about every person who interviews and every new hire class that DCA is the new base. I'm not 100% sure why they are waiting to announce it?

And personally, I would rather see higher pay and contractual improvements before flow increases. How about a min day and a trip/duty rig? That would take care of the inefficient trips some of us get.

Oh really. It'll increase? To what?

I think we'll see 7 /month by the summer. So roughly 84 /year. Plus I'd say we are likely to lose anywhere from 150-180 overall next year to attrition. Most likely CAs to DA, UA, and elsewhere.

That's a lot of net upgrades.

I realize that. If they are wanting us to continue to grow at the rate we were in 2014/2015 and account for attrition they are going to have to upgrade quite a bit. I hope we can reach 7 /month by the summer. It will be tough though and that number is tied to a lot of factors that aren't in the pilot group's hands, so we'll see. But I am hopeful. If the classes stay filled and more airplanes begin arriving then I see no reason why an increase in the number flowing shouldn't be expected.

A rough look at the numbers - attrition in the last month was 27+.

There are still quite a few people that flowed that are still on the seniority list.

About half were off of the top half of the list.

That means that if we are getting 2 new hire classes a month in the mid 20's, then one class is only covering attrition while the other is growth.

I look forward to seeing TallFlyer's analysis of it.

If DCA is the new base, would it possibly be the junior base until the slots get filled or is it likely that current pilots would move? As a potential new hire I might be starting training in the next couple months and I'm just trying to guess where I'll end up first. I'd honestly prefer DCA but DAY would be my next choice.

As of right now you can pretty much have any base By the end of training except for maybe TYS. No official word yet on DCA as a base.

That's right, you can always depend on FA for good directions and factual rumors.
