I found some info on what the commuter clause looks like, but is there a probationary period before you can use it?

Danke. That helps me out a bit. I have a few options to commute until I can move (hopefully within a year) but I always get apprehensive thinking about the possibility of the worst case commute scenario.

I had to use it on my first year. Scheduling just asked what two flights I tried to get on and if I was listed. They pulled them up to check, and gave me no further hassle about it.

Depending on your brokerage you should have a lot more investment options available to you rather than just leaving it in the 401(k).
I do agree in most cases if one can only invest a limited amount, the strategy you've suggested is superior. My income bracket doesn't allow for a direct contribution into a Roth. I have a way around it, and it's maxed every year, in addition to the $18k 401(k) limit.

I'm also taxed at 39.6% for every dollar I earn at PSA that isn't tax deferred, so the smaller my W-2 income is, the better.

Which light weight headsets are you guys using for CRJ? Is there a difference in cockpit noise on 200 vs 700 and 900? Thanks

Most people use Telex, either the 750 or 850. There's a smattering of other brands out there but those are the majority. There is no cockpit noise difference between the fleet types.

Do y'all have a TSO requirement? I have Zulu's and would love to be able to use them. I used the ship DC set at XJT as I already had to many bags without adding my headset.

Yes Tso requirement is in our operations manual.
