So new FOs in DCA are not going to be on reserve at all?
Also, what does BU mean?

BU is a build up line. Might be all trips or a trips/reserve days mixed line. Usually published on the 20th of the month. Awarded 23rd? Same as reserve awards

Right now, new hire FOs will not have to sit reserve at all in DCA. They will go straight to a Round 1 line and be able to SAP.

Nice.

Does anyone know or know where to find the monthly new hire totals for American?

Build Up line are lines of flying built from trips and pieces of trips left over from round 1 bidding. There usually aren't very many and the quality of the trips is typically very poor i.e. Long sits, low credit, undesirable overnights, etc. However, it's a line which means you can trade trips with the open time pot and you know what you'll be doing which is generally preferable to reserve.

projections say they won't be for a while as I heard all the Envoy 700s are going to DCA.

So for those playing along, if I remember right. CLT used to fly all the lines that now are DCA. So CLT is temporarily shrinking and DCA is temporarily small. Both projected to to go "full size" (whatever that means, that was what the guy spreading the rumor said). So basically DAY and TYS staying the same, CVG small growth and DCA and CLT big growth.

Also, there is a big gap where they didn't hire hardly any new people right after the street captains (again IIRC) so the dates on the chart are slightly misleading if you only use that information alone. Once we jump that gap the times will drop drastically.

So, long story short anyone coming on board in the next year is going to be in a really good position for the set amount of growth. If they grow as much as they hope to grow then anyone coming on board in the next two years will be in really good shape as far as upward movement.

Anyone know how many senior FO's in DAY are slated to upgrade to captain soon or taking class dates in near future?

A friend of mine put in his application on airline apps on Saturday without my name. I did not do the referral either. Is it too late to add it now? I told them to let me know before they did one.

Sounds like your friend just cost you $5000.
